Ugh I've just started to power through the main quest of Pillars Of Eternity so I can play KOTOR again.

I've got such a Star Wars boner rn

How the **** did nobody ever make an isometric Star Wars rpg in the late 90s? It's the most obvious game concept ever.

How has there not been another KOT-oh yeah the ****ing MMO.

Real, the most well received thing out of the EU of the biggest movie franchise ever hasn't gotten anything since 2004 except a lame cash grab?

If I'm being critical though I don't think the old style RPG combat works for Star Wars. All in favour of making an over the shoulder real time combat RPG for KOTOR 3. Obviously big attention on the characters and the relationships between them but the rest can be ARPG as far as I'm concerned.

If KOTOR 3 were ever to exist.

Either turn based or RTWP would work fine for Star Wars.

You've got a usually party based combination of melee and ranged combat, as well as some magic use. Lightsaber bolt deflection would be easy to implement as well.

Pillars of Eternity is the best RPG since Arcanum, let's face it. A deep and rich setting, full of life and with no embarrassing romance sideplots.

Turn based (or RTWP) combat is still the best way to do RPG combat.

For ****s sake. Seriously? Not having a Rey toy is now sexism, you know, after she featured as a major roles in the film. Some people seriously don't know what is an issue and what isn't. This is the sort of shit that makes people not take anti-sexism movements seriously, because EVERYTHING is sexist. Rather than fighting battles against things that actually are sexist, they lash out over this sort of shit. A toy missing or out of stock for a female character is now sexism people. Sexism is a real issue but this is the sort of shit that shouldn't even be given the light of day.

It might be its age showing but the KOTOR combat was pretty shit. Maybe if it was more Dragon Age in its sophistication, but having to move in real time before pausing to set up your attacks and also AI always locking onto another target as soon as you've stopped controlling them was frustrating as **** when trying to focus one enemy.

Obsidian to take the reigns and no dumb romance which BioWare writes really woefully erry time.

Romance? Can hardly call it that.

It's *choose awkward flirting dialogue* option

*sleep with person*

That escalated quickly.

Yeah but it is though innit. I mean when generic stormtrooper gets significantly more shelf space than the only recently discovered Rey toys you gotta raise a few questions.

Sure on the face it doesn't look like a big deal but this is the biggest film franchise of all time with the biggest merch arm in all of the universe. It's gotta be scrutinized.

Obsidian are the GOAT at this. Their key people have been involved in basically every great RPG in the past 20 years.

The combat in Pillars of Eternity is great. Full turn based might be a bit better than RTWP, but it works really well. You have full control over each party member at all times during combat.

I'd love a Pillars of Eternity set in the Star Wars universe, maybe in the time between ROTJ and Force Awakens or something.

Why wouldnt you want a rey toy....

her character is only just shaded by kylo imo

Rey and kylo would be first purchase for mine over any other SW character

I highly doubt Disney made the concious decision not to make Rey merch because wymen.

It is possible the shitful companies they outsource the production to were like "lol **** rey" and proceeded to mass produce TR-8R models.

It may even be intentional to build Rey merch as rare and valuable. Apple does this all the time with each release, intentionally restricting supply to create demand and increase the status of their stock.

But I'm more willing to take this on face value as "we need more rey figurines, I repeat, more ray figurines"

...and I have no doubt in 9 months time we will be graced with ****ing 9 million babies named Rey and Finn.

Yeah sure, tell yourself that it wasn't a completely conscious decision by a highly funded marketing team. She's the mainest of the main characters and Generic TIE Pilot gets more toys and shelf space than her?

You say feminists are lashing out but you're the one getting angry here. All I see is people pointing out something reasonably questionable.

I am thinking kylo will be a popular choice too for baby names
I'm naming my child Kyle but I'm adding O' to the start of my last name so he won't be resigned to a life of total ridicule after being named after a pedulant Vader fanboi.

Also, possibly unpopular opinion, but I never find Motorhead a metal band, they're more in common with the hard rocking approach of AC/DC than the appregios of Metallica.

How can it be an unpopular opinion when Lemmy himself considered himself a 'rock and roll' merchant rather then a metal head?

Having said that, growing up I listened to Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Metallica and bands like that. My personal favourite was 'Another perfect day' album myself but I'm odd like that.
