It is, and one hell of a change from last week on the glühwein and SAP trail in Germany. Sadly I've only got a couple of evenings here, the days taken up with some excellent but less mind bending training on software defined storage.

The Kabuki theatre version of "Jonny B Goode" blaring at heavy metal volume over the top of the view from Sky Tree tower was fairly different.

Oh, did I mention the rabbit petting cafe? Haha.

I went to one of the Cat cafes and it was cactually awesome.

It always confounded me that in one moment you could walk through some of the most majestic and sacred places on the earth ... and walk 500m and buy some soiled underwear from a vending machine.

The Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku is awesome for a night out if you have time.

I liked being able to buy a beer from a vending machine at any time of the day or night, although I've heard that these are no longer as common as when I was last in Tokyo (2007). Can you imagine how long a beer vending machine would last on a street corner in Adelaide?

Edit: Speaking of beer, Portology did you go to senso-ji near where the goldfish game is located in Asakusa and if so did you check out the Golden Turd beer hall across the river?
