What? If they wanted to manipulate things like that, they would just cut it out of the version that goes to air. It's not like we heard every player giving feedback.

In which game? I thought they said he was very good in the trial from the first week. And as for the game against the prison team, you pretty much have to rely on what they choose to show from the other players/coaches. It's like watching the 2-3 minute highlight clip of a game on one of the Sunday footy shows with the sound turned down and pretending that you could say with any authority who the worst five players on the ground were.

I want to see more footy. As in, who can hit a target, who can't etc. I'm enjoying it but I still can't tell who is any good and who isn't. Apart from the bloke with the dark beard and Johan they all seem average.

I don't like the bottom there being decided by the players. Too much personality can come into it. How long before we see some alliances formed to deliberately put someone in the bottom three to save themselves etc? Bottom three should be decided by Voss and co. At the end we should have there three best players, but if someone they end up in the bottom any given week Voss will be forced to axe one.

if i was the captain i'd be putting the best player into the bottom 3, swapping him with the bottom player. That way you ensure that the bottom player stays in for one more week and if you are in the bottom 3 the next week he'll go instead of you.

As for the lack of scoreboard details i think they are trying to conceal that Wagner is a cut above. Kicked 8 in the practice match and kicked at least 4 in the prison game.

they seemed to focus on the guys who ended up in the bottom three. You barely even saw a couple of guys (Waylan, Wagner etc). it was really about BJ dogging a few hits.

To me Moreland showed a lot more leadership as captain on the field than the first two captains - I'd love to have him, Wagner, or Ryan Semel win the contract they appear to be footballers not athletes

Havent seen one decent footballer yet, now they throw a couple of extra clowns in from overseas. Honestly, the number 1 sport in the country and we cant find even a handful of decent players?

That's because they're not. I don't think you understand the selection criteria. Without a doubt, the best non-AFL players are playing in state leagues. These are merely the best non-AFL and non-state league players. Their level is not where guys like Barlow came from.

I think some people here overstate and overrate the level and depth of talent outside the state leagues.

TBH, if you're over 21 (as most of these players are), and you don't have the ability and commitment to footy and "making it" to at least be playing in or be in the frame for a state league spot, you're probably not good enough or committed enough for AFL.

Has there been one player in the last decade that was A) Over 21, and B) Not playing in a state league, and C) Not an International/other sport project, that has been drafted into the AFL in the past 10 years?

Brett Jones almost meets your criteria. Couldn't get a first class debut for the WACA so went back to footy. Dominated a year of A-grade, dominated a year at Claremont (WAFL) then debuted for West Coast the year he turned 22.

Is it just me or do they look incredibly unco when kicking the ball on the run? Most players make it look like second nature, and even those in lower leagues don't have a problem with it, but this lot seem to have a lot of trouble hitting it fluently.

Semel or Goss look like they are the only two who could possibly make a decent AFL player.

Semel is a beast around the footy by what we've seen and Gossy looks like a classy outside type.

The others are all kidding themself and are probably good/average local footballers or athlete types.

Quite like the show and will continue to watch.

I am an ammos man and noticed he kicked 5 on the weekend in his ONLY game for the season.... doesn't seem right i don't reckon. can confirm he is a jet so wouldn't be surprised if he won it. looks a lot better than the other cubs on there they will no doubt pump up to look equally as good... just an OK show for me
