View attachment 920983this is a frame before the strike . You can see it's an open hand .
Doesn't matter if it was an open hand.
Doesn't matter if it landed on the chest first before slipping up.
He gets off one of 2 ways:
(1) No high contact
(2) Insufficient force
The vision is grainy but I am 80% sure Yeo's hand clipped Wills's chin. So I think he only gets off on (1) if they can get Wills to give evidence that he wasn't actually hit and he was just moving his head back to avoid the hit or play for a free. Unlikely, but not impossible.
More likely they will run with (2) and pull up a few similar examples where the MRP/Tribunal have found contact to be insufficient force.
they'll argue careless but looks intentional - hes looking at the target of his elbow at and just before impact.
you seriously gotta wonder what eagles are doing behind closed doors to stop this shithousery mrp

I’m open to any conspiracy theories after this garbage.Probably got his attention drawn to it by an ’anonymous’ (i.e Collingwood) informant.
So 1 week up to 3 weeks then. We do have 3 vicco opponents in a row.clear elbow by yeo there, intentional. High impact.

Methinks Grace’s arguments were hamstrung by Gov’s stupidity on that occasion.

The strike was intentional and the strike made high contact, they don't combine them.So if the "intentional" contact was initially to the chest, then it slipped up, how can the high contact be deemed "intentional"? Has to be careless high contact or intentional body contact. One or the other...
The intentional/careless grading is only for the contact, not for where the contact is.So if the "intentional" contact was initially to the chest, then it slipped up, how can the high contact be deemed "intentional"? Has to be careless high contact or intentional body contact. One or the other...
TBF, you don't really know if it's been addressed by the club or not. This is where the table of offences is deeply flawed.
They made a big mistake getting rid of reckless.
We all know the MRO is flawed in its interpretation and application.
We also know the AFL is looking to get rid of any kind of contact with the head.
It may also be true that we are under the microscope since the Gaff incident.
What the Eagles need to do is not give the MRO anything that can be used to suspend players.
Rather than shoving someone in the chest or shoulder, do it in the tummy or sternum. It's the same thing as your arms sliding up in a tackle, it won't slide up if you grab them around the hips.
Why the club hasn't discussed this with the players internally is astounding to me.
They will argue careless, insufficient force and also exceptional circumstances.
90% chance they fail at all 3

I'm pretty sure it would've been though.
Things happen in the heat of battle etc.
Does this mean every fend off that slips high is now a reportable offense? Dusty and P Cripps are going to be watching a lot of footy from the grandstand.
