How is Hille's calf ? and Joey - he looked pretty sore.

I'd like to see Henno get a crack at J. Brown to free up McPhee and Wellman. Lucas must play forward, he's just too damn good.

It's my opinion that we look a much better side and Lloyd a much better player with Cupido in the forward pocket, while NLM has been reasonable he isnt up to AFL standard yet. Cupido if fit is, 39 goals from 19 matches last year proves that. He is big enough and quick enough over the short burst to give our midfield another option on the lead to Lloyd, plus he is a very good crumber at the feet of any packs. He must play and be in good form if we are to win finals.

Ben Haynes is a gun, first game back from injury second in the best to hunt, had 30 touches of class and looked a grade above, again if fitshould be in our side- possibly replaceing Joey.

I dont think we can afford to keep Laycock and Hunt on the list if we won't play them. And im sure they wont stay on the list if we dont. Both are top quality players Laycock was pick 10 in the best draft of all time (2002) and is dominating in the ruck at VFL level, Allen is at best a 2 year fix and while it is true that sheedy is looking to win another premiership with Hird in the side we must also look to the future, both Laycock and Hunt are that. Wellmen has 1 more year tops Hunt replaces him Laycock will be the next Simon Madden if allowed game time and when in the seniors does not spend ludicrous amounts of time on the bench. Hunt will be a 150 game+ player if given the oppotuinty he deserves.

So for this week.

In: Cupido Laycock Haynes
Out: NLM Winderlich Joey

On a side note i believe winderlich is the future of the Essendon footy club and after his bravery in the Hawks game i believe he deserves more chances, if fit he must play to show the comp we are not cowed.

Huge call.
Madden is probably the best ruckman Essendon has ever had.
That said, Laycock does deserve a game soon - if Hille doesn't get up for this week Laycock in.

Haynes must come into the side, I agree. Murphy is gawn - more because no other Essendon players should get suspended, and a few Hawks will go. Haynes replaces Murphy.

Winders should stay in if fit. Gutsy work, although didn't do much in game terms, deserves to keep his place. If he's unfit, replace with Cupido.

B: Welsh Fletcher McVeigh

HF: Bolton Lucas Rioli

OUT: Murphy Winderlich

Haynes or Bullen as they only other option for possible unlike suspensions or late changes.

Would like to see Haynes, Hunt and Cupido in.

I really rate Haynes as a bit part of our season, I remember when he came in last year for the last bit of the season....he is absolute class. I think a fit Cupido and a fit Haynes can lift us to another level this year.

I think we should bring Hille in, or, if he isn't fit, Laycock. Brisbane's defence is tough and rarely makes a mistake, but they aren't tall. Their tall defenders, Michael and Leppitsch, give about ten centimetres away to Hille and Laycock. That's a handy advantage.

Hunt will not be in.

The line to get into the team goes something like:
Hille, Haynes, Bradley, Laycock, Cupido, Stanton, Dyson, Hunt.

Henno must have been in a different queue, cos he walked straight in. And poor Bullen forgot to take a number

Touche.
Bully can sit between Cupes and Stants, and Henneman was always going to come in within a couple of weeks of recovery.

That said, I realise the 'line to get in' is a stupid metaphor - my point was that a number of blokes deserve a spot before Hunt.

Outs: Murphy (suspended for the headbutt for 1 week), Winderlich (concussion), Lovett-Murray (omitted)

Ins: Cupido (3 goals on Sunday), Bradley (getting better as a full-forward for the 2's), Bullen (plenty of touches against Sandy)

Backs: Welsh Fletcher Solomon
Half-Backs: Wellman Henneman McPhee
Centres: Alvey Bullen Ramanauskas
Half-Forwards: Hird Lucas Bolton
Forwards: Rioli Lloyd Cupido
Rucks: Allan J. Johnson M. Johnson
Interchange: Peverill Misiti McVeigh Bradley

Emergencies: Haynes (much better for the run..but, I'd bring him in after the break myself), Hunt (another BOG performance on Sautner), Stanton (only just edges out Dyson)

just saw this stat on bomberland.

Since start of 2000 to end of Round 11, 2004:
Brisbane: 111 games, 78 wins, 32 losses and 1 draw (71% success rate)Essendon: 109 games, 78 wins, 30 losses and 1 draw (72% success rate)

 1 premiership vs 3 :(

and if they added 99 it would look worse

I think Sheedy and the side have to decide now if they can win a premiership in the next 2 years... that will decide our selection policy.

I reckon he thinks we're a chance this year. The next fortnight will tell us more than anything over the last 11 weeks though.

it's okay I got it. I think your underselling Hunt a little though, he's been a pretty solid contributor for most of the season, certainly done far more than Henno. Cupes is only in that list because of his form last year, and justifiaby so as he was a regular senior player, however he hasn't done anything at all this year.

Out: Winderlich NLM and Henneman
In: Haynes, Hunt, Hille

Winderlich while showing great courage on the weekend will be made to look like a twig against Brisbane and can only play against the smaller teams at the moment.

NLM is struggling a bit -needs a run in the twos and I think Haynes is in our best 22 anyway,

Henno - he just can't cut it at the top level - not as a ruck anyway and we need to find out if Hunt will ever be any good. We have already found out Henneman won't.

Not intending anything against Hunt - but he's not as big or as strong as Henno. Henneman has the build to be the KPP we desperately need - and he's been injury-r*ped for some time.
Give him some time to prove himself - he wasn't bad on Saturday in his first game back, and if he can hold Brown, it'll shut the detractors up.
Henneman on Brown allows Lucas to stay forward, where he was BOG last week - and if Henno fails, so be it, but we have to try and win this game, not try and save it. I admit he's not a ruckman or even a backup ruck, but he could be a good CHB.

Agree on Cupes - done nothing this year, but his talent and last year gets him into the side - but Haynes should be ahead of him.
