Caught the end of Morning Glory and an old Essendon fan called up saying this is all Wilson and Patrick Smiths fault and the club had done nothing wrong.

I love it how we all should wait for the findings and not jump to conclusions yet Watson can claim Wilson gets a brief from the AFL. So it's okay to draw conclusions on one hand Hey Tim!!

Then he should assume some responsibility!!

The biggest issue has been the lack of debate/discussion in the media - Punishment A,B and C are mentioned - But there is no actual debate about the validity/suitability of Punishement A,B or C.

I like Finey, but he's gone too far the other way. Like paul scholes says he's that deep in the debate he's beholden too Essendon now. He's tied himself on the mast of the Essendon Football Club.

regarding the whole essendon drugs thing, its an absolute mess. two clear sides.

1) those who want penalties applied to efc - smith/caro
2) essendon fans

i dont think there are any efc fans who believe their club should be sanctioned.

Lot of you, if not all, is due to the message the club and Hird have been selling to the public and their fans. That they've done nothing wrong so don't deserve to have any sanctions.

If they came out from day 1 and said, we've stuffed up now let us have it, supporters would be totally different.

There are plenty out there, both on Bigfooty and in the general populous, who believe Essendon should be sanctioned. To say otherwise is just wrong. Sure, the James Hird/Essendon sycophants are plentiful, but there are a plethora of rational supporters who understand their club has done the wrong thing and deserve their right whack.

Sorry to have a go at you, you are a very reasonable poster in this thread. Just get tired of people making comments about the situation when a lot of it is just the rehashed opinion of certain media personalities.

You don't read widely - Essendon supporters are on record as saying that if there are player infractions, the whole coaching will be gone, and if there are no player infraction notices the club will still be punished. On the latter many supporters are asking for a proportionate penalty.

So the media would be better, if 100% of journalists/presenters all adopted the same line.
