Re: The SEN Saga

The two of you are deluded.

The station is going under. They are paying insanely high rates for personalites that are in reality dragging the whole station down.

They have the same 5 annoying ads on rotation, causing more people to turn off then the peronalities and Jason from Boronia combined.

As already mentioned, they need to scrap the current format, go back to the drawing board, take a chance on few lower paid personalites, and see what happens.

It is too late though. They needed to sign on air presenters to shorter contracts (like maybe a year) to allow them to review at the end of last year and make appropriate changes. As it is, they are stuffed.

Re: The SEN Saga - Please post opinions here

I sent the following to SEN.

Dear SEN,
I represent a group of dedicated SEN listeners from the online football forum, www.bigfooty.com

We don't want your station to close down as it a great sense of news, talk and information for all of us, who are diehard sports fans.

Please read this thread
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173879&page=1&pp=15

We will also be sending a letter and a document attached showing thoughts from all of us at Big Footy.

Thanks for you time.

Ben,

1. Post it on the main board as a sticky.
2. Call it - SEN (Your Opinion)
3. Ist and only para to explain that this thread will be sent to SEN mgmt.
4. Thread is not to be used as a MSN convo.
5. Thread is not to have links posted into it.
6. It will need to be moderated. Preferably by someone who understands the industry like Russian or Pudding.
7. A poll would be useful. Put all SEN's presenters in it and call it "Most annoying SEN presenter."

Thats it for the moment.

If you want it to be heard, points 1,4,5 and 6 are absoloutly vital. Otherwise you're wasting your time.

I'm supposed to be on my lunch break but feel that I'm in another damm meeting. All for a good cause though.

SEN- Your opinion

Ben,
The content post here will be sent to the management of SEN in conjunction with a letter written by myself and Roostersgal4eva.

Please DO NOT use this thread as an MSN conversation.

DO NOT post links of any kind

Please ONLY post your thoughts on SEN and why you believe it shouldn't be closed down.

Re: SEN- Your opinion

SEN has been a breath of fresh air for South Australians. Untill now we have only been able to hear about Adelaide Crows, Port Power and Cricket and SEN has provided us with an alternate station who will cover the needs of all sports fans and for those who would like to know about other AFL teams and other sports.

The main idea I would like to express to SEN is that in Adelaide that we need a local morning show and/or drive home show to give us local news -with Kevin Bartlett, Francis Leech, Tony Shebecci and Mark Doran's show and the shows on the weekend giving us Interstate sporting news, which has been non exsitant untill now. Also every other station in Adelaide has TV adds sprouting why the public should tune in and if SEN were to adapt the same policy it would bring attention to prosective listeners

Without a doubt SEN a godsend and Adelaide Sportsfans would be lost without SEN - I know I would be.

Re: The SEN Saga - Please post opinions here

unless you're planning to enclose a big fat cheque in that email it won't do you any good...

sen know people listen to their station, they know more people listen than what the ratings indicate... it's the sponsors or lack of them which has caused these problems...

Re: The SEN Saga - Please post opinions here

True

BUT

The managament can go to petential sponsors and prove to them that there is a host of listeners that will be told of their buisness if they sign up!

They could look in both cities for sponsors as well - you have 2 markets not 1

Re: The SEN Saga - Please post opinions here

i think they can already prove that... do you think if noone listened to sen there would be stories on the news about it?? it was even in the 7 news update... why would anyone care about the station that apparently noone listens to?

Re: SEN- Your opinion

I honestly like SEN it is the only thing i listen to when i go in the car or when im bored. Great radio station :)

Re: SEN- Your opinion

Rightio then, SEN needs to stay because I (Jarryd from Wattle Glen) need to ring up Tony Shebecci again. Its been too long since I last did and it isn't very long at all before I make my return. I'm gonna say things that'll get people talking (just like last time) and will hopefully get a few more people tuning into SEN. I may have said some silly things last year but people tuned in too have a listen to what the next silly thing I was gonna say was gonna be, and if me saying silly things get people tuned in, then say silly things I shall!

Re: SEN- Your opinion

How about you suggest ideas to keep the station financially viable, as writing feel-good stories doesn't provide money.

SEN is in administration - it needs financial help.

Exactly. Words of appreciation are all good and well, but they can't continue to operate at a loss.
