Geelong
Geelong’s line up
B: Corey Enright – Matthew Scarlett – Andrew Mackie
HB: Josh Hunt – Matthew Egan – Darren Milburn
C: David Wojcinski – Jimmy Bartel – Shannon Byrnes
HF: Paul Chapman – Cameron Mooney – James Kelly
F: Nathan Ablett – Brad Ottens – Gary Ablett
Foll: Mark Blake – Cameron Ling – Joel Corey
Int from: Charlie Gardiner, Tom Hawkins, Travis Varcoe, Brent Prismall, David Johnson, Joel Selwood, Kane Tenace

Kelly in the starting 18, geussing that means bye bye charlie

You'd expect Charlie and blackjack to miss out. The other person dropped will be truly unlucky, and I can't see it being Hawkins, Sellwood or Prismall. And as Bomber loves DJ, then I guess Varcoe will draw the short straw.

Seems more likely to be Selwood, midfielder for midfielder. Would also be consistent with the 12 game strategy that Bomber is so fond of.

Couldn't drop 32 and 14 - not enough run. Besides Prismall will play every game bar injury.

We'll see.

They've both been quiet and could do with full games in the VFL midfield.

Two mids in (Kelly and DJ) for two mids out.

I believe Djerkurra unlucky and Byrnes Lucky. But isnt it fantastic to have selection dillemas (sp?)

This is how i would have them line up...

B: Corey Enright – Matthew Scarlett – Andrew Mackie
HB: Josh Hunt – Matthew Egan – Darren Milburn

EMG: Kane Tenace, Shannon Byrnes, Charlie Gardiner

I think Varcoe was quite good up forward with defensive pressure, Ottens MUST start ruck, no doubt about that at all.

I'd have Moons CHF and Nathan FF, with Mackie on the wing, Josh BP and Selwood on the HBF. I agree with the emergencies though. Hopefully Byrnes can work on his goalkicking on the Apple Isle on Saturday.

Byrnes will get another week until Stokes comes back.
Kelly in for Selwood this week will be the only change.
Djerrkura will come in after Varcoe has had a couple of games, these two will be interchanged throughout the year. This way both kids will get their 10-12 games for the year.

I'd have no problem if Kelly was replacing Varcoe.I'd prefer it if it was Charlie.Neither Selwood or Prismall should be dropped.

I've gone for Selwood more so on the basis of mid for mid.The swooping crumbing forward role is not for either Kelly or Selwood. Given that our forward structure will have 3 big forwards we will need one.
Yea I know that Chappy and Gazza can do that role but they need to be used further up the ground as their vision and delivery is far superior to the other mids
Selwood has done nothing wrong ( I like him a lot ) and he will be back.

Well articulated sarah. Exactly my thoughts.

Prismall and Selwood will go back to the VFL and dominate. Then we get to bring them back into the senior team in a few weeks with their confidence sky high.

Yeah Selwood maybe to ease his workload. Don't see why you would drop Prismall, he has been good.

as sarah said, you can't drop varcoe for kelly. Varcoe created alot of forward pressure last week, which is something we need with all our tall timber. Kelly should come in for Byrnes or Gardiner... D.Johnson should come through the reserves, since the team as a whole played so well last week and I don't think it's right to reward good form with a spell in the VFL in order to bring in a fringe player.

David Johnson, Charlie Gardiner, Kane Tenace to be cut from the bench, I think. Perhaps Selwood out for Tenace, he was probably our worst midfielder last week (nothing against him, he just didn't look as smooth as he has).

after watching the vfl on the weekend i cant believe tenace has been selected. his disposal hasnt changed and in a comp he should do quite well in, he does very little. should have chosen djuekka as i think he has much more desire and more hope for the football club.

I won't be happy until byrnes and gardiner are removed from the side permanently.
Byrnes especially. His disposal was diabolical last week as usual.

I thought Tenace wasn't too bad in the VFL last week. Used his pace, hit targets, didn't get a lot of it but got enough. There was one piece of play in particular where he swooped on the ball from the centre ruck contest, flew past a series of Sandy players and set up a goal. If only he would do that in the ones ...

If I had my choice I would leave out Charlie, Byrnes and Selwood (was not great last week and could probably do with a couple of weeks in the VFL to build some confidence and momentum).

I think it is more likely to be Charlie, Tenace and Selwood. I think the fact Charlie has been named on the bench rather than on the ground for the first time this year is telling.
