my de facto stepdads camry just ticked over 1 mill
What year was it?

Contraversial for a Gen X but I would actually think about buying the new redesigned (2025) camry.

Never had one but apparently the new hybrid have the same power as the old V6 and sip at just 4.3l per 100km on city driving (verified). Even if it averaged out at 5.0l per 100km, with a 50 litre tank you'd be getting 1000km between refilling.

Would probably last a fair while too, unlike the Chinese rubbish.

I think I'm getting old.

Yeah i think fuel consumption and range is everything these days. Who knows how much fuel will be in 5 years time let alone 10.

In 2017 ulp91 was an average of $1.27 in Melb. 7 years later today it's topping out at $2.39.

If you are running a daily 20yo 6 cylinder aussie car and pulling 14 l per 100km city driving your gunna get smashed at the bowser 3-4 x as hard as alot of the current hybrid cars which you never need to plug in.

20,000km between the two is basically $4500 a year (or $45,000 over 10 years). Its a massive difference.

And that's assuming fuel prices won't go up in the next decade.

In for a pound in for a penny.

10l of fuel saving per 100km at 20000km per year at $2.39 per litre is 45k over 10 years.

Impulse purchases so I can opt out.
car will shite the bed at 100k
