I like it.

Dyson a bit unlucky but he's got time. Hille needed another run in the 2's.

Watson's ability to clear the ball will have a big impact on the result if he gets some decent time in the midfield.

Hope Keps plays - has he been training ?

Happy with the team, exluding the injuries obviously.
Like the way the backline looks, especially with Fletch at CHB on Hall. Although we all know not to make too much of that, what odds on LM taking Hall instead? ;)

We definately have enough run in the side and several proven ball winners. Hopefully Jobe can add the extra grunt that we will lose with Solly being out. Quietly confident, but then again I was last week.

Interesting we didn't go with either Allan or Hille. Match committee finally learnt a lesson about playing blokes under done? Or horses for courses with Goodes as their only ruckman?

Give me Monfries over Winderlich any day of the week.

Ted.............stop killin' black cats!

Stanton...............if his disposal isnt improved this week he should be banished to the 2's for the next 6 weeks or until he can hit the side of the Reynolds Stand from 20 metres away.

but apart from that..................very happy with the inclusion of NLM & Jobe.

would still like to see Thomas get another chance soon.

& Bolton.............OFFICIALLY your last chance before you make the trip up the Calder Hwy.

Go Bombers! :)

LRT is the backup ruckman.

We've gone in signifcantly tall this week with Saddington and Vogels (both 190cm+) coming in for the short people Schneider and Buchanan. Also look out for Jarred Moore (#33), our first draft pick this year, he'll be a star of the future.

I'm 90% sure Moore will be the small forward/crumber this week, even though his future lies in the midfield. He looks chunky but is deceptively quick over short distances. Kennelly might also play wing/forward, keep an eye out for that.

I was surprised with moore at last years draft camp. I watched him a few times during the year and he had a nose for the footy but rarely broke out of a canter. He ran a decent 20m time (3.00secs) at the draft camp, thankfully he isnt fast enough to worry us too much. Sydney seem to be missing some runners that would usually finish off his in and under work.

Not to mention this is the kids debut so expectations of a great game cant be that high.

I thought exactly the same thing.
They were both out of form and not doing much as a crumber so they're no big loss. Schneider in particular is having trouble emulating his 2003 form.

Why are you so worried about the small forwards? Can't McVeigh cover them?

How did Winderlich get picked? Thoguht his form didn't warrant selection. Would have preferred Monfires who did so many more 1%s and looks miles ahead of him already. Apart from that - pretty happy although how did Bullen keep his spot? Would have liked a half fit allan int he team -he surley would get more touches than henno and can at least ruck.

I agree about Bullen.
However, Winderlich over the last two weeks has probably got about 10-12 clearances, many of which where he has ran the ball clear of the stoppage. That is something we desperately lack.
Against Sydney we don't really need another bloke in the trenches trying to win the ball out (ie Monfries), we need a bloke who can break the lines. Winderlich can do that. While he probably hasn't played as well as Monfries, he has certainly been playing very good footy.

As for Henno, I think he is a better match up for Goodes and LRT than Allan. Allan couldn't run around the ground with those two.

In theory I agree with both your statements. But I like the look of Monfries and I think we need more team oriented players. However - if Winderlich can prioved the run we need (I still question his pace), then I can accept the decision better.

In theory Henno can run with Goodes - but look at his stats - he gets ******** all of the ball and he does nothing in the ruck. At leat with alan you know he would dominate Goodes. Remember 2 years ago I think - we took only Hille as our ruckman and while he rucked we were ok - but when he wen tout we got smashed. and it was no suprise that when Hille rucked against goodes we got back into the game. A good ruckman against Goodes can really hurt the Swans at centre clearances. (wouldn;t we love to win that once this season)

Happy with that team. I would like to see Bullen play in the back pocket, and have McVeigh running through the middle. Gives a bit more class to the midfield which Bullen does not offer. Bully did very well as a small defender in last year's Semi against Geelong where he, JJ and Hird were the ones that got us back into the game.

Surely, though, NLM was not required. Average footballer.

His game last week for the 2's wasnt outstanding, but serviceable.
His game the week before was outstanding, will be good to see how he takes the opporunity.

Very happy with Jobe gettinga go, looked good last week when i watched the VFL (go channel 2)

Still wondering why Monfries was named at CHF for bendigo last week....

As for Hille, up until 3 quarter time hadnt really done alot, but his last quarter was quite good, slotting through a few goals.

As for Allan, well i forget who said it but they were right "you're getting beaten by a boy from the country", needs at least another week.

His game against Geelong was sheisenhousen. Not up to it at top level.

Winderlich was best on ground a week back, and valuable this week. That's why he's playing.

Monfries has been good as well. He's close. But I agree with Longy413, they provide different things to the team.

Watson - out
Thomas - In

Why does Sheedy persist in playing these stupid games ?
For once I would like the team to run out as named.

Where did that come from?

I heard unchanged, unless the weather forced a decision.
