He would have been a superstar, but really he already is and everyone respects him so much for what he has been through!
I agree he is a superstar, and he is a champion to come back from 3 reconstructions! But the "what if's" in this case I feel are valid, there's a large possibility that he could have been kicking 100 goals a year, etc etc.

oh yeah and that is one of the reasons i luv him, but its not just the knee injuries, its the other things he has had to deal with and his honesty, loyalty, compassion, dedication and his approach to life in general makes him an outstanding person.

*shudders* yeah i saw that and i also saw his 1997 comeback game against the cows and well that was something we never thought we would see. and he "gave away" a free kick with his first possession with a "pushout". all the melbourne fans errupted and its the most ive ever heard the cheersquad yell. LOL :p but god he would have been a superstar if he hadnt had his knee ops.

I was there that day too. That was back in the day he was my all time fave player before Farmer took that mantle. I cheered so loudly when he ran on, then went nuts when he gave away that free kick! It was nowhere near a free kick!! I think he actually took the mark too. It was:

yyyyyyyYEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH straight to ..............OHHHHHHH, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in the space of about to seconds! :D

Exactly! So really instead of looking at it from the down side we should see it as an amazing dedication and courage by one man to stick by what he loves. He could have given up a long time ago but he didn't and the fact is he injured his knee and he could have never got on that ground again and there wouldn't be any superstar there, but he did get up again and he did continue to play and thats what makes him a superstar regardless of how good he could have been!

Yeah, just thought Id tell yas seeing as it was one of the best games Ive been to. :)

It was followed by a pretty awesome finals series too, its a shame we had to go to Perth for that Prelim final. :(

I remember that finals series!! Lyon kicking 10 against the Doggies, Ox dominating and the team was just awesome back then. And I watched the prelim. I was shattered after we lost, but againt the Eagles in their prime?? We never really stood a chance.
