Don't think the team has been posted elsewhere.

Geelong
B: Mackie Scarlett Enright
HB: D Johnson Egan Milburn
C: Wojcinski Bartel Byrnes
HF: Chapman Mooney Selwood
F: Gardiner Ottens G Ablett
FOLL: Blake Corey Rover: Ling
I/C: N Ablett Hawkins Varcoe Prismall
EMER: J Hunt S Hunt Tenace
IN: Byrnes Hawkins Varcoe
OUT: Harley (finger) J Hunt Tenace
NEW: Tom Hawkins, 18, Sandringham U18; Travis Varcoe, 18, Central District (SA)

My hope is Thompson has finally got the message that Ling is a run with player and he is given the job to curtail Stevens. Byrnes adds pace but can he play?

If only they hadn't imposed such a long suspension on 'Dog' we could have had him sitting in the pocket.;)

Get Selwood out of the forward line and put Ottens in as the number one ruck! Hawkins should be on the ground at full forward at first bounce, like Nathan was in his first game, get everybody excited!

You don't know how much I want Foxtel atm.

I'm glad to see a couple of surprise changes in the team and I think they should prove to be positive ones. Some youthful spark in the forward line could be what we need while we wait for Stokes' tenacity to come back. Hopefully Varcoe can supply some Davey-like defensive pressure in the forward 50... to help cover up a little of our achilles heel.

exactly Ottens has to be our full time ruckman now and Selwood better bloody not play forward but in the midfield. I would be mad too if I didn't have foxtel.

IMO Ottens will start at Full Forward and will remain their for over 80% of the match providing he does not perform like last week. Having Ottens up front releases N Ablett, Hawkins and Mooney. Whilst being to top heavy may seem an issue, the inclusion of Varcoe will add defensive pressure at ground level alongside other speedster Byrnes.

I thikn you'll find that Hawkins was brought in to free up Ottens further up the ground... ie. in the ruck.

Three or four genuine defenders at the most, out of 22. Worrying.

To do what, exactly? Ruck? Defend? Tag? Mooney might be moved down back, but Nath won't be and neither will Hawkins. Ottens will ruck most of the game, and we'll have 3 talls forward at all times anyway.

Yeah exactly.

I have a few problems with Geelong...
We never look hungry enough, a lot of pointing and standing around expecting someone to put in the hard yards. Cameron Ling is to slow, although clearly not the worst in our team. Gardner is useless. Our ruckman is totally useless, complete ****** when it comes to touch and getting rid of the football. Interested to see how Hawkins will go. I expect Geelong to win this game.

That backline looks more than capable of controlling Carlton.
You sure?
I always thought Andrew Mackie was a forward player, if he is then why is he up the back?
I'm nearly as confused as that time Bomber played Gazza at HB.
And doesn't Corey E play on the Wing?

Oh yer.. Someone send Andrew Mackie a gym pass, my **** is thicker than that kid. Give him some pizza, he needs to put on some size. Nathan Ablett is looking alright. Garry Ablett Jnr has been great for us; Ottens will dominate if he is giving some space in the forward line. The team needs to communicate better, so many times numerous players spoiled each other.

As was pointed out earlier losing two regular defenders in Harley and Hunt for varying reasons, with Selwood and two first gamers...I think we need to be realistic about the result.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Brendon Fevola will get struck by lightning and the Blues'll forfeit?
