I think you are being very naive.
Clubs/managers/players all find ways to "chat" whether contracted or not.
They aren't.. But I guess if everyone is doing it, you dont want to be the odd one out..

Not sure if it was at the start of the season. Greg Swann was on record the contract would be signed by mid season IIRC, so I reckon the Crows pounced around that time.
Got to say - I met someone who knows Eddie well the other day. Fair to say the "Eddie is off for the cash" line the club spun may not be entirely fair. He said Eddie was very keen to stay but we committed to Thomas early doors, so there wasn't anything left for Eduardo. He wanted a payrise, sure, but only a modest/reasonable one.

I recall swann saying we had enough dough to chase 2 daisys.... so i dont believe that to be true, i think eddie just wanted a slice of cake that was to big
ODN won't commit to a longer term deal until you prove you can go through the midfield.
Re Eddie - who knows? I don't know him...but the person telling me this story certainly does.
