Re: Thinking of you Thy

Still no thy...

The stress is terrible.
I doubt that thy will have internet access if Kinglake has been wiped off the map.

The stress is terrible though.

Thinking of the fires, the people affected and thy woke me up this morning.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

Thoughts and prayers are with Thy and all effected by these tragic fires. I hope to read a witty comment soon from the man.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

As Imentioned yesterday Thy last posted on Sat at 5pm......I think there was already trouble at Kinglake by then so I am just hoping he was one that evacuated early

Re: Thinking of you Thy

I saw someone wearing a Carlton cap on one of the news coverages last night. Not the same guy who was wearing the polo shirt. I don't remember where they said it was filmed at but they did say something about its wear all the people from Marysville were taking shelter.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

Thy my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
I hope that you are somewhere safe my treasured stripey friend.

My heartfelt sympathy & condolonces to all whose loved ones have perished in these devasting, destructive & tragic bush fires.

I remember Ash wednesday, but this would have to be the worst & most devastating in my life time & I hope we never see anything of this magnitude again.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

This beggars belief. Truly apocolyptic scenes. My thoughts and best wishes for everyone affected around the country. Hoping all is well with Thy.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

Red Cross are taking names and encouraging survivors to register with them so they can update family and friends. We have someone waiting for Red Cross to call if and when thy makes contact.

Thanks ODN, alot of people on BF really appreciate what your doing, as im sure Thy will be when he sees this. Also good to see posters from other clubs leaving encouraging words.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

Dude i think one of the last things you will do is post on a footy site after rushing out of the place, might be weeks or months before they post, but hopefully they got out. What Century are we in,how come there was no warning to leave ?

Its nearly impossible to co-ordinate something for fires like that. To give you an idea of the speed of the fire, it travelled from Churchill to Yarram, a distance of around 50km in under an hour. Thats nearly impossible to warn people. The fire leapt literally from ridge to ridge spotting in front of itself with the wind. When i was told this by one of the firey's it really hit home how devastating it is.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

I wonder if there is anywhere in Whittlesea where we can contact and ask about survivors. I am pretty sure that all the survivors from Kinglake have been transported to Whittlesea.

I think so too Bee as they were showing the Whittlesea Community Centre this morning on the Sunrise programme & were waiting for buses transporting people from the Kinglake area.

Re: Thinking of you Thy

How do I find a specific name on that, PHX? There is just so much there.

Firstly turn off the auto-scrolling in the bottom right to stop it moving automatically.

Then press ctrl and f for the find search and then type in probably his surname if you know that, as it will probably be the easiest to sort through.

Hope that helps.

Thanks PHX. I tried that but his name wasn't found there.

I wish Red Cross or someone like that had a site where they publish the names of survivors.

This is getting gut wrenching.
