When (decade will be fine) did the crowd start enphasising the YELLOW n BLACK in the song?

Also, it is clear our song is the best.. who is second? I have said Carlton...

Not wishing to sound too high n mighty here but its a shame you had to ask. I think knowing this one small fact is a sure sign of a true Tigerhead. Every other ******** sings skin! Now you know...welcome on board!

There is absolutely no logical reason why it would be 'skin'.
Unfortunately, 'skin' has crept in of late.
But when you're not singing the song very often (or at all) then the words can get a bit hazy.
As for the others, personally I like the Crows song. Not a bad effort for one of the more 'modern day' theme songs. Freo, West Coast and Power are woeful.

Hurts to say it, but I reckon Collingwood's is next best. When it gets to the "Aaaalllllllllll the premierships a cakewalk.............." the crowd really gets behind it and it actually makes hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Personally i dont care if its shin or skin. Our song hasnt been played at the end of a game for so long i cant remember the last time.
Would love for players to see this song as a form of encouragement. Certainly should power them up, as there are some games where they fail to "be strong and bold" and Fight and fight and win when they're behind. By the way, i dont mind sydneys song. Any old dork remembers South Melbourne days, and its a true fact the song was also used when the Swans were known as the South Melbourne Football Club. The only difference in the old version was the line "Swans will go in and win overall" - instead, "South will go in and win overall" was used. "Swans" was dubbed over "South" to create the Sydney version and you can still hear a faint "South" in the background of the current recording. Anyway, Richmonds is by far the best.

Clarification, just watched the end and we won by 79 points but I was there and I know we did at one stage lead by triple figures, Michael Mitchell starred (favourite player as a boy). It was rnd 5 1990 to be exact, can't hear the crowd singing the theme song though.
