We've already got a striker that can score but doesnt do much else around the ground. Rather stick with Dzeko to be honest.

And Gomez in makes Cavani in much less likely.

i think it depends on how much dzeko wants to stay. he's been rumoured to be off for months

however, it's hard to say much negatively about a striker who's scored 39 and 41 goals in 2 of his last 3 seasons.

25-30m for Gomez, about to turn 28 with 3 years left on his contract. Bayern have no great need for him with two quality strikers already there so 25-30m is fair.

Gomez started the season injured and likely run down from internationals, was disappointed cos I expected an absolute monster season from him. He still did well with 19 goals in 32 games.

In 10/11 he scored 39 goals in 45 club matches
In 11/12 he scored 41 goals in 52 club matches

About 20 of those goals from 10/11 and 11/12 were in ECL alone

wouldn't say he is much better. dzeko would've scored a similar amount of goals if he played in the same system as gomez. dzeko suffered big time from our style.

just look at his time in germany. 36 and 29 goal returns with wolfsburg. i fully expect him to go back to those types of numbers if he's the focal point of his new team.

He's a bloody forward. That's what he's paid to do.

I'd rather have a player that sits in the 16 yard box that does nothing all day as long as he scores when given half a chance.

A good forward scores in maybe half of the games he plays. So theres 19 games where you need him to do a bit more for the team.

Wasted talent. Was very effective for us for a few years coming off the bench. But I think his interests lie in being famous and music rather than his football.
