I've been an amused reader of the Richmond board tonight, I didn't see the game but the general consensus on there is "we wuz robbed".
One interesting post though that caught my eye was that Richmond has not won the free kick count once this year.
Which surely in itself is enough to destroy the ridiculous conspiracy theories on here that the AFL is influencing outcomes through the umpiring department. If the AFL would want any club to succeed it would be Richmond

I listened to the Richmond Bulldogs game on the radio, and apparently Riewoldt complained to the umpires at three quarter time.
Did that happen, and did it make any difference either way?

In my experience literally every Eagles fans thinks they deserve each and every one of those free kicks. And they'll give reasons related to them being the greatest team of all time in order to convince themselves that they deserve them all.

Never screamed for a kick? Yelled ball at a 50 50 while supporting your team? Don't kid your self every supporter base wants more kicks, never turn down the ones they get, and never so oh sorry we have had enough today don't give us anymore. It's the nature of supporting.

I am talking about West Coast supporters who will, in the face of plenty of evidence that they have the biggest umpiring advantage in the league, will say it's because they are "first to the ball" or something similar, when it's already been proven that isn't the reason, and the only factor at play is home ground umpiring advantage.

And even home ground umpiring advantage doesn't explain it, or Freo would get a similar advantage. Fremantle doesn't.
It's the West Coast Umpiring advantage. Is it corruption? Is it a 17 year sustained quirk? Is it specialised coaching for free kicks? Who knows. But it should stop.
