Brander should have been a development coaches dream. There’s a lot to work with there, if you’re worth your pay packet.
He’s not perfect and has a lot to develop but there’s failings on both ends for me.

Bit hard off the half back flankDid he even kick 5 goals in the entire time he was in our squad?
Did we even kick 5 in our practice match yet?Did he even kick 5 goals in the entire time he was in our squad?
I dunno, not watching it?Did we even kick 5 in our practice match yet?
I put it down to poor development and pathetic match committee
I am thinking there will be egg on face at the nest
Incidentally Nacho Libre is on tv right nowSounds like a horrific feeding accident. New Mummy bird?
Well, I don't mind him leaving if he didn't want to re-sign, but to lose him for nothing, someone has to be made accountable for this stuff-up.
I'd really love an in depth explanation about what possessed us to announce that we would delist him if nobody offered a trade for him.
Hopefully GWS will do us a favour at the trade table in the future for letting him get him for free.
Neither will happen though lol.

We already have too many hacks getting paid too muchLol. Was thinking the same.
Can we use this as some downpayment for helping take Coniglio off your books next year?![]()

The defensive wingman we let go for NADA, ZILCH, fu** ALL bags 5
Not going to pretend that it’s not disappointing. He never came close to kicking five goals in any of our six quartered practice matches.
I don’t want to see it but a kid like Chessar would have suited that role. I think he has that attitude to play seniors at all cost and do it for the team. Like You can criticise Brander but I can understand his frustration after playing all your footy as tall, he’s then asked to play a sacrificial role in a position they’ve never played in.Interesting listening to Masto on Backchat talk about the red wing position and how much of a selfless role it is but also how it doesn't suit anyone who won't play the role to help their team. He says you can't park a superstar out there but all the same you want your superstars in the mix.
Brander obviously felt he could contribute more being up around the ball and thought his career was wasting away playing red wing.
Masto embraced it as a way to be in the side, and was highly praised each week within the club for how well he excelled at maintaining team structures.
I reckon the coaches saw it as blooding Brander and pumping games into a talented top pick any way they could, but in reality the role suits someone who is on the cusp in the latter stages of their career and just desperate to keep playing. Or hopefully the role is just straight out scrapped for 2022.
Id take swimming and **** every day of the weekJack Watts kicked 5 in his first practice game for Port Adelaide too. Look what happened to him...
