OK so it's coming up to Christmas (and I've also got my 24th birthday in less than a week), which means that some of the wine bottles I have might very well be opened for the first time

So this just gets me thinking- what styles of wine and which wine regions are drinkers on BF most inclined to prefer? I'm not too fussy as far as that goes but big reds, fortifieds and dessert wines usually top my list.
As far as wine regions go, it's hard to go past Rutherglen for the fortifieds and reds produced there, in fact it wouldn't be far off to say that region is a jewel in the Victorian and indeed Australian wine industry for the heritage and superb wines produced. Overseas, besides the usual wine regions mentioned places like the Loire Valley, Alsace, and Austria's Burgenland region are well worth a look.
