IF anyone complains about your thread, it will be whinging to the power of 3

At this point, Melbourne Uni Arts' postgrads will have a thesis topic

PS South of the Yarra I love your club history pieces if my memory serves on your posting

Cheers WBW. I love the history of our club and the Pies have been a part of my family since Round 1 in 1897. Appreciate it mate.

Wrong, I'm 16 and the new breed of collingwood supporters who are demanding flags and not mediocrity and we aim to get rid of the dead wood, rusty anchor old supporters like you
You just confirmed that you have no idea, Mitch Robinson, McCarthy and Lyons, lol, maybe Lyons but the other 2 ain't winning us anything. Football is very easy according to clubs like Geelong, WC, Richmond and Pt Adelaide. I can't help it if we have a sh*t list manager. How long have you been a Collingwood supporter, because if it's a long time you need to move on you anchor, still holding on to Near enough is good enough

I was naming brisbane players. They dont play for us. They dont teach ya much at school these days eh. The new breed eh.... a youngster who has a long history of demanding mummy and daddy for stuff and getting that stuff or you scream like bloody murder..

well it might work....try it out.... hold your breath and threaten to stop breathing until you get a premiership. It worked with mum and dad. It just might work on the Pies. Give it a try, you have my support

’New breed’ farking lol. Nothing new about you champ, you‘re just a rehash reincarnation of all that’s been before you.
Bashing away on your keyboard demand change ‘and we want it now’. You live at home, never earned a thing in your life and you’re going to ‘to get rid of the dead wood, rusty anchor old supporters like you’ that have paid their dues and the clubs lifeline while you were gleefully sucking on your mothers T**ty.
Farking lol

If you had any brains you would know that my avitar is Yosemite Sam you twit. Why would a 16yo have a 1960/s cartoon character as his avatar. Your discernment is about as useless as your footy knowledge. I'm 58yo and have been a member for over 30 years.

if i had any brains I wouldnt be exchanging thoughts with someone who is 58 years of age and wants to portray himself as a 1960s cartoon character....

do i need to care about your avatar? is that in the rules?

btw my avatar is something to do with a guy in pompeii. i'm not sure if its real. I used to have a nice pic of emily ratajkowski but someone with authority told me to get rid of it.

btw part 2. i used to like those rabbit /ys cartoons too. Gee that Yosemite was a dumb ass. Not as bad as the coyote but at least the coyote had some inventiveness in him.

That's not a very balanced view of the situation.

The club has missed out on some very good players e.g. Lynch. There are also cases of great players that wanted in that were ruled out by the club e.g. Tony Lockett. (I can't prove that one). We have attracted Treloar and Adams, both quality people and footballers.

Luke Ball and Darren Jolly both chose Collingwood. There are many examples.

You are very harsh on Crisp.
Actually you can Mathews came out and said it. The board knocked it back. As unbelievable as it sounds. What where they thinking

I admire the posters that turn every issue, however obtuse into a whinge about the club or Bucks.

That’s a special type of creativity - and one that is wasted on BF when it could otherwise be handsomely reward in a another profession.

I love the history of our club too. We have followed the pies for the same period of time. I have framed five season tickets my dad handed onto me before he died. They are the 1897,1898,1899, 1900 and 1901 years in pristine condition. Cameron Doyle, former Collingwood player and owner of the memorabilia shop in Smith Street offered me $10,000 in cash ten years ago when I walked into his shop with my framed tickets. He has the biggest personal collection of Collingwood memorabilia in Australia. He's a lovely bloke but my season tickets will be going to my son.

Our dining room walls are adorned with the team of the century painting, another classic by Jamie Cooper, the famous one of Bucks leading the boys out into the 2002 GF, a Victoria Park poster and a part of a seat from the Sherrin Stand with the number intact. I have a framed jumper signed by the whole team (in 1999 unfortunately) and a veritable library of books on the Collingwood footy club which fill a substantial section of our huge floor to ceiling bookcase.

I am going off on a tangent, but many years ago, I was introduced to Jack Burns at a grandparents day at the primary school I taught at. The teacher whose room he was in called for me knowing how passionate I am. Jack played with Lou Richards and then ran our recruiting for years. He got Barry Price, Tuddy and a number of other legends to the club. He sat with me for an hour that afternoon and went through an old scrapbook with me. He was chuffed to know a young bloke knew so much about his era. He invited me and my dad (I told him dad was a huge fan) out to his home a few weeks later and regaled us with stories about Jack Regan and Duncan Wright (who famously knocked out Somerville in a preliminary final).

I have had many such encounters with Collingwood people and am to this days best mates with Leigh Carlson, you may recall him as the bloke who wore long sleeves his whole career and was traded to Fitzroy halfway through the 1981 season in a swap for Warwick Irwin. The inside stories he told me about Tommy Hafey and Robert Walls were absolute gold!

Anyway, I love this club with every fibre of my being and I am still going to criticize them when I think it is warranted!

Great post. Love the collection and memorabilia you have. I have also gathered an enormous collection over the years with my pride being that I now have in my possession every players autograph from the Collingwood Team of the Century. Have been honoured to meet legends such as Jack Regan and Harry Collier and the great Peter Daicos is one of my closest mates. We may know each other as Leigh Carlson was one of the biggest influences on my life and a man I hold in the highest regard.

That's awesome. I will tell Leigh he has a big fan on this forum. He is a beautiful man. Peter Daicos a close mate! I had one personal encounter with him and he was a true gentleman. I told him the truth. I said I had actually cried on occasions when watching him play due to the sheer poetry and beauty of his movement. He could have made a joke or taken the piss, but he simply looked at me and said: "thank you, that's a lovely thing to say!". Later that same evening (it was a sportsman night at a local footy club) he rubbed the top of my head as he walked passed and I grabbed his hand and kissed it-only half joking, and we both laughed.
He is all class.
That autograph collection sounds impressive. Cameron Doyle would be all over you if you popped into his shop!

Well my friend, if you’re 16 with that attitude I salute you. Please take the batten and run, us oldies need a break so by all means do the right thing by us and lead us to the promise land. Looking forward now to relaxing and for you young guns delivering some silverware. HAHAHA. No such thing as a dead wood supporter my fellow pie man, show some respect mate.

You might want to read my previous post because you just wasted a few seconds of your life, that's what happens when you try to be the hero and don't do your research, I'm 58yo and was just having some fun with another poster, sorry to disrespect you, lol
