Just been on the Melbourne board looking around and came across a nice thread. They are rating every players on their lists greatest game for their club, so i thought this was a good idea and we can have a shot at it.

I'll get the ball rolling:

Josh Carr - 1st Western Derby last year.

Clive Waterhouse - Round 21 2000 Demolition Derby (kicked 7 and polled 3 Brownlow votes, we won by a point)

Clive Waterhouse - Round 21 2000 Demolition Derby (kicked 7 and polled 3 Brownlow votes, we won by a point)

Never forget that day. Clive was on fire.

Jusitn Longmuir - Rnd 18 or 19 2001 @ the TD. Kicked 5 against the Hawks in our first win of the season. He absolutely dominated that day. Any arguments??

Daniel Bandy - Round 10 vs. Melbourne 1999

18 kicks, 13 handballs, 10 marks, 22 hitouts

or

Round 2 vs. Hawthorn 1997

14 kicks, 11 handballs, 6 marks, 3 goals, 8 hitouts

Another nomination for Longmuir would be back in 2003 when he kicked 6 goals after half time against the Dees at the MCG. The Hawks game was probably better though, since he contributed all through the game in that one.

Actually, while I think about it, Farmer's best game for Freo would have to be the shoot out at the MCG a couple of years back, when he kicked 7 or 8.

And I'll nominate Modra's 10 goals against the Dees back in 1999 as his best game for the club too. Although there was a game against Richmond where he kicked 7.10 or something along those lines and was really on fire.

Looks like I have Melbourne on my mind, doesn't it?

Matthew Pavlich against the Kangaroos at the MCG in 2003

I was lucky enough to be at the game :D

No doubt at all on that one, and he didnt even get he 3 votes.

Adrian Flethcer - 1st Derby win (39 possesions)
Luke Webster - Elimination Final v Essendon (only guy that played well that night)
Paul Medhurst - vs Brisbane in 2004 i think when he kicked 9.
Dessie - In his first season against StKilda, not sure what round it was but was early in the season. Was absolutely brilliant.

Winning kicks...
Des - Heritage Round 19(?) V Kangaroos 2003. Kicked winning point to see CC finally say the "F' word.
JLO - Kick after the siren 2005 around Round 20 v St Kilda
Hase - 2006 first derby kicks a goal to ensure the win...

Jeff Farmer kicked a goal after the siren against melbourne to win the game. 2002 i think not sure tho

And so did Quinten Leach against Brisbane in 1997.

Nah, Bandy was B.O.G when we beat Carlton at Subi and stopped their 20-odd match winning streak.

Scott Chisholm (actually pretty much anyone in the original side): 1995 v Geelong at the WACA.

My memories a little bit hazy but I'm pretty sure he played on Hocking and ran rings around him. Have never seen anyone look so befuddled as the cats did that day.

Taz 4 goals vs Essendon r2 2007.
Solly 2 goals vs Port r1 2007.

That's as good as my memory will allow unfortunately. ;)

I think Pav in 05 close to his best game, kicked 8 goals against the best defense/defender in the comp to almost bring Freo back against Adelaide after being 40+ points down through most of the match, he was unstoppable after half time.

Haddrill's game against Hawthorn in our first win of 2001 sticks in my mind. He was an impenetrable wall across half back in that second half and marked absolutely everything that came near him. That's when I first realised he had some real talent.

As far as I can remember Duffman's best game was probably his debut against west coast. Showed amazing poise that day for a rookie in his first game.

Yes he did, I remember that goal very well. Got an in the back free kick when Melbourne players dived over him to tackle him and get a ball up.

Although he did the job, the kick for goal was a shocker though.

Watching him jump into the crowd behind the goals was pretty good. The sportsmanship from his ex-Melbourne teammates was also pretty impressive.

Sandilands always seems to play exceptionally well against Melbourne, I remember his two games against them last year were very good, he even kicked a running goal against them in the Heritage Round game at Subi.

Heath Black- Semifinal against Melbourne last year. 30 possessions across half back, I wonder if they'll tag him this week since he murdered them last time.

Matt Carr- Kicked 3 goals in a derby win while tagging Cousins (2003?), and Jakovich went mental at Cousin's for being unaccountable. :thumbsu:

Dean Solomon- Round one 2007. ;)
