Never heard of it but sounds like one of those typical indie news websites with political leanings, cringeworthy topics of typing, general clickbait and a Mamamia type website.

Yeah, I agree with you there. Still, each to their own and all that - they're not affecting me so if that's what they want to do, then good luck to them.

That said, I don't know why it has been cancelled - there may well be a good reason.

They absolutely deserve equal pay, but only if they play the same amount of sets.

It's a little bit like someone who works 0.6 FTE wanting the same salary as someone who works 1.0 FTE, for doing the same job. Silliness.

And while we're on the topic, they need gender parity for the number of sets played. It's essentially saying that women can't handle the same amount of physical exertion as men and are therefore weaker. You want equality? Make everything equal, not just the things that sound great from a PC perspective. Gender equality isn't a restaurant where you pick and choose what you want from a f*cking menu.

It's only the Grand Slams where there is a disparity in the sets played. The rest of the times blokes only play three sets.

There seems to be a push recently to promote womens sports, womens cricket is getting more exposure, there's a womens A-league and now the AFL are starting a womens league as well.

It's good that women have the same opportunities to play those sports as men but I can't see the interest in terms of crowds/tv ratings and the money involved ever approaching the levels that the mens sports do.

Tennis is about the only sport where the pay is the same for both women and men.

UFC 193 is one of the UFCs highest earning PPV's. Headlined by 2 female fights. Women in sport is fine, people just need to get over the fact they are not men. Its not a problem if they are playing against other women, when it starts to become men vs women or men and women playing together thats when you can start carrying on about physical attributes.
