Yeah. It's crap and unfair to people who put in a lot of work to submit applications when they already have someone in mind for the job.

Yup I remember not having a job at the end of 2006 and putting in hours of KSC and applying only to have "sorry the position is unavailable". I soon just gave up.

Found my current job old school style, The Age (hard copy), emailed a resume, soon after interview, next day job offered.

Hell no. I wouldn't be a principal if you paid me a CEO salary. Our principal is here til 11 at night. It's a master teacher position. Not that much extra work(basically just mentoring new teachers) but $10,000 more a year.
