Leave it on rest mode. updates download and install without ever even knowing about them.

Changed internet providers, ages ago so the PS4 lost the network connection.

Never thought to turn on the PS4 that i couldn't be bothered playing to put the piece of shit into rest mode so it could download gigs of useless updates whilst it 'rested' so the next time i could be bothered playing i would actually be able to.

Yeah I've barely touched my PS4 either. PC gaming is in the middle of a renaissance though, and is occupying all my gaming time.

Steam is well and truly where it's at now. So much great stuff out there, particularly from outside the big publishers. So fricking cheap too in this world of Steam Sales, Humble Bundle etc.

Download 30 or so gb for the game
Next week a 30 gb update, thats fine, as long as it improved the pc port.
2 days after another 30gb update, **** that noise, uninstalled immediately.

Made the mistake of grabbing Andromeda retail for PC. Now I quite liked the game, so it's not that, but even though it's retail, all that's in the case is a code to download the game

Will pay closer attention from now on. Seems to be an EA thing (so far). Have also noticed it with the Mass Effect Trilogy (which used to be on disc!).

Turn the PS4 on last night for the first time in a few days, another 70gb worth of updates to add to my 100+ i already have paused so Netflix/Online games weren't interrupted. 26 items currently paused...

I dread what the X1 has waiting for me, havent played that for months and is now the kids netflix and media box.

This gen has taught me that keeping a game collection just isnt worth the hassle.

Because i want to keep track of what is being downloaded so i dont wake to a message saying "you've used 50% of your quota" Rainbow 6 and Battlefield 1 patches are almost 1/10 of my quota.

Also on me keeping a bunch of games on there like Killing Floor 2 which has a 10gb patch currently on pause.

I'll be culling my collection down later tonight.

He means if you had it in rest mode it would update as soon as the update was available, meaning when you went to play it, it would be already done.

I quite often buy games online at work via xbox live, and by the time i get home they are installed, updated and ready to rock

On this, games with cinematics that sometimes throw in a quicktime event. A cinematic is time to eat and drink, when they do that it is just cruel as I'm not prepared for it.
