I used to think that the number of children a female had was already pre-determined and that the time that a fetus would actually start to begin to grow inside a would be mother for an eventual birth was also pre-determined and could not be controlled by the mother.

In a way, I treated the whole concept like Russian dolls. Every female would have 0 to many children already inside them, but very tiny and not yet developed... and if any of those pre-born children were female, they also already had even smaller children already living inside them, and so on and so on...

This was before I even knew what sex was.

As a kid all you saw when you walked into a Fish&Chip shop was the hot Chiko Roll ads all over the place and Coke signs EVERYWHERE......

When Dad held me up to watch the chips cook all you could see was these huge stainless steel tubs that looked black inside.

When the chips went in it bubbled up in a brown foam.

Naturally enough, as far as I was concerned fish&chips were cooked in hot Coke.......

When I was young I used to think that having sex hurt - whenever I saw a sex scene on tv I thought they were moaining in pain and couldnt work out why people would do that.

Also I couldnt work out the whole homosexual thing and how they had sex. I thought that gay men would put their pee-pees in other men's pee-pee holes.

Maybe this belongs in this thread, but this belief stayed with me until last weekend so i suppose it was with me for my whole childhood. Just assumed that gay men had anal sex just as much as we had regular sex, when apparently it rarely happens regularly and straight couples actually have it more often than gay couples.

Mind.blown.

What happened last weekend? Please, no pictures.

I had a really vivid dream when I was 6 or 7 that Mum had come to pick us up from school, but she got really sick and couldn't drive the car home. As a result, I took over and drove the car home that day.

I honestly thought that had really happened until I got to maybe 12 years old and I went to re-tell the story to a friend and I realised halfway through reciting the story that it could not have possibly happened....

Also, I had a really close family friend who was the same age as me (we were born 5 days apart), but he had an older brother who was 7 or 8 years older than us. As a result, I always just assumed that my friend's mum was 7 or 8 years older than my mum -

One day I found out that my friend's Mum was infact a little bit younger than my Mum. I remember Mum asking how that could be the case considering she had a son 7 or so years older than me, and she told me quite frankly

"Well that's because when Aunty (x) and Uncle (y) were only 16 they didn't have safe sex"

So from then on I thought that if you didn't kiss and make out on a bank safe, then you'd get pregnant...

Believed the crows would get the threepeat in 1999. Still waiting for that next premiership!

We had the Kookaburra and Gray Nicks factories close to home....and we always though that they threw all their damaged bats in the dumpsters. An urban myth went around that people found bats in there and we always went in and found nothing.
