1. Right now, neither team will be premiership threats.

2. Horse still has NFI about the sub.

3. You can't carry injuries into finals. Season should be over for Jack, Reid, Parker and maybe even Smith.

4. Most "Bloods" like performance of the year, just couldn't convert it.

Just got accosted by some Freo clowns on the way out, I was wearing the premiership jersey so I just reminded them of their lack of silverware. Then they called Goodes a useless monkey, so make your own decisions

Goal kicking efficiency was off today. We had 6 more scoring shots than freo but still managed to kick behinds. Obviously we didnt respond well to the conditions.

We never quit. Ever. Kudos to the boys for that after a horrible week.

But when the dust settles on tbis season I hope we drill into the reasons that led to today's result. It wasnt an aberration. Surely we need to address the root causes

1. Tippett is amazing! Played like a man possessed and rose with the responsibility in the absence of Reid and Buddy.
2. Towers will be a very good player! Stood up in a final and proved his doubters wrong.
3. Playing players with niggling injuries in finals is not a good idea, clearly McGlynn and Rohan were still hampered.
4. Goodes and Shaw will be very missed, veterans stand up in finals pressure.

Congratulations on a wonderful effort today. Considering the week you guys had and injuries it was an amazing job and with a bit cleaner disposal in front of goal, it would have been an easy win. Was amazing watching Tippett, Goodes and Kennedy today, hopefully they can back up next week and take it right up to the Eagles.

Well done again on a proud effort :thumbsu:

1. Happy with the attitude.

2. Unhappy with the selections - we can't take injured players into the finals.

3. Not sure what is going on when we play Freo. We should have won in R4 and we should have won today.

1. Felt like they gave it their all but conversion went horribly wrong and unforced kicking errors.
2. Perth first halves are not much fun and you just have to factor in a few going against you with a demanding Freo crowd.
3. Rhyce Shaw turned his season around better than any other Swan on the list

1. We might not necessarily go out in straight sets like I feared going into this game
2. Freo will not win the premiership
3. Something I already know, but Kennedy is a gun.
4. Tippet really stood up in the absence of both Reid and Buddy
5. Towers proved me wrong today

All in all I'm absolutely gutted. As much as you cant fault the effort there were too many passengers today. If you're going to be wasteful in front of goal and kick 7.18, you probably don't deserve to win. While this loss is easier to stomach compared to the last 2 finals losses, losing a final, double chance or not ****ing sucks.

Now to go get drunk and pretend this game never happened.

Effort was there for the four quarters finally and we should still make prelim.
Mcglynn last two finals show no effort or composure, should not get another game this year tbh.
Kennedy, hanners and McVeigh were immense in the middle after half time

1. When the chips are down is when we really get going
2. Kennedy played one of the very special finals games
3. Our inexperience proved costly
4. The set shot misses........
5. Jones is a starter
6. Unfortunately, Jetta looks like he has left already
7. Even with all the poor things that went on, we should of won.

If you kick 2.11 in 1 half of football, you cannot win. No pride in this one. I would have been if it was a 4 quarter effort from all 22 players, but too many were absent for far too long to do anything positive.

If 22 players actually put in 4 quarter efforts every week we'd win the comp. Alas, we don't live in a perfect world

Just because some unmentionables couldn't pull their finger out doesn't mean you shouldn't show pride in what was, from many of them, a really brave and willing effort. There's a lot to regret out of this game, but I think it would only be high maintenance supporters whose heart didn't swell a little given the endeavor.

1. Massive Massive effort today. Goal kicking cost us badly but in spite of that we never gave in.
2. Buddy would have dragged us over the line. Hope the big fella is going ok.
3. Jetta just cant show up when he feels like it.
4. Not hitting targets in general play really hurt us.
5. Another slow start was the difference.
6. Kennedy was epic.

FREO FANS ARE SCUM AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO BOO GOODES

Kennedy was amazing. 39 possessions.
I don't know what I can say about the kicking that hasn't already been said, but it is what it is. Has cost us a prelim berth and time we sorley need to recover some very sore players.
Agree with Horse, applaud the effort but the execution just let us down.

1. Not sure why people think Freo can't win the flag. That is the way they play, always vulnerable to teams that run and spread like we did today.
2. JPK and Hanners were huge in the middle. Goodesy and Tippo willed us into the contest. Shaw, there's life in the old boy yet.
3. Missed Kizza big time going forward, just knows where to run to get the ball.
4. Towers eh, can't ask anymore for anymore than that, well done!
5. Zak Jones deserves a permanent spot. Decision making, hardness over the ball, willingness to contest were pretty impressive.
6. Worrying that Goodesy on 1.5 legs can turn it on in finals like that and some others go missing, again.
7. Cunningham was pretty good, really turned the corner and found his niche running off half back.
8. Pykey oh Pykey. Hmmmm
9. Rampe was good, would have been great if his disposal was more effective.
10. JPK every bit as good as Fyfe
11. Hanners, back to his barnstorming best

Was in the pocket in the City End. Freo came out to warm-up and nailed their first 15-16 kicks. They couldn't miss.

We came out, and kicked about 3 from 20. The game just continued that trend.

We were far better in general play. Kicking let us down, but we were on top everywhere else. While that sort of moral victory is meaningless, it does say we should go into next week and indeed next year full of confidence. Freo will get knocked out by whoever they play next. They were pretty dismal defensively, and teams like Hawthorn, Adelaide and event he Bulldogs are going to expose them.

Liked the effort and intensity from the boys. Bring that next week whoever we play and we'll be back in Perth for the Eagles.
