Chops used to be really cheap - now they are more expensive than steak. Unbelievable - they are barely 2/3 meat, the rest is bones and fat.

Chump chops for example - i have seen them at 15-20 bucks a kilo. They used to be bout $3.99 a kilo and everyone hated them.

Now there "MF Gourmet S***".

Like lamb shanks

In my part of the world fresh fruit and vegetables. $4 for an iceberg lettuce and if it's under $2 woohoo. Don't get me started on punnets of strawberries/rasberries etc. Even in season cost an arm and a leg. Half the time they aren't "fresh" and go off in a few days. $6 plus per punnet is criminal IMO.

Also, Clothes, Shoes, (decent ones), furniture, white goods, LCD TV's (i've just bought a house) - just about everything to be honest.

Razors. Seriously ****ing pricey things.

It is absolutely ridiculous. If you are using the "vibrating" one, it actualy costs $29.95 for a pack of 4. However, if you're pedantic, those may last you few months.
My parents just bought me a Phillips shaver for birthday. It's not quite as good as wet shaving but it's good enough. It should save me a few bucks.

I don't know where you are in Scotland but I've got relo's in Glasgow and they say it's ridiculous compared to Melbourne. Things like Steak are much more expensive but that's obviously due to the limited supply. It goes both ways I guess where we don't have a direct reach to things that Europe has...

I bet scotch is cheaper in Scotland :thumbsu:

Not really.

Only Melbourne and Sydney in the top 100 most expensive cities in the world.

Some things like fresh fruit and some meats are more expensive.

Other things are way, way cheaper. Booze for example. The other day, tesco was selling three 15 packs of 500ml can of Tennents for £15.

That's 45 beers for $AUD30. And beers that are a third again as big as in Oz.

Clothes are lot cheaper over here as well. A lot of transport - not trains though.

And for those who enjoy the 'special nightlife', well, the prices are about1/4 of what they are in Oz, if not substantially lower.

Movie food & Tickets.

Shit yes.

$16 for a concession ticket to VMax at Southland!

I remember when you could get a ticket and Maccas for that much!

They think I'm gonna spend 16 bucks on a movie when I can download a (somewhat shittier) version for free? Lol haven't seen many movies recently and only went for the epics like T4 and T2. I think I saw Cloverfield as well, and apart from that haven't been very often.

A mate of mine was going on about it the other day. Stating the irony of the cinemas pumping up prices of movie tickets to make up for the loss of revenue due to people downloading movies and the more they jack up the prices, the more people will download movies.
