The Port Adelaide Story - 2000-2004
2000 - NO FINALS
2001 - Qualifying Final (LOST)
2001 - Semi Final (LOST)
2002 - Qualifying Final (LOST)
2002 - Semi Final (WON)
2002 - Preliminary Final (LOST)
2003 - Qualifying Final (LOST)
2003 - Semi Final (WON)
2003 - Preliminary Final (LOST)
2004 - Qualifying Final (WON)
2004 - Preliminary Final (WON)
2004 - GRAND FINAL (WON)
Port Adelaide lost 3 finals in a row (just like us), then starting winning a few. The main constant? They kept getting there, building their experience and won a premiership.
The West Coast Story - 2002 - 2006
2001 - NO FINALS
2002 - Elimination Final (LOST)
2003 - Elimination Final (LOST)
2004 - Elimination Final (LOST)
2005 - Qualifying Final (WON)
2005 - Preliminary Final (WON)
2005 - Grand Final (LOST)
2006 - Qualifying Final (WON)
2006 - Preliminary Final (WON)
2006 - GRAND FINAL (WON)

So there you go. It's happened twice this century. Teams that don't know how to win finals, build their experience and eventually start winning them, and they've made it through with a premiership. The really promising aspect of this was that both Port Adelaide and West Coast suffered heartbreaking losses. West Coast lost to Sydney by 1 point, in the Grand Final. It just made them hungrier, I see the same happening with us.
We just need to keep getting there...
