At the bottom of the Sun's article on Chapman playing in pain, if he plays this weekend, is the single sentence that Bomber has re-signed for two years. Is this not big news?

Discuss.

Re: Thompson re-signs for two years

I can't find any mention of it, either in the Chapman article online or on The Addy site.

I'm tipping that it was a mistake on the Herald Sun's behalf and has since been pulled, because it would definitely be reported elsewhere given the coaching merry-go-round that is likely to happen at seasons end.

That or your eyes are playing up ;)

Re: Thompson re-signs for two years

I heard the same last night, I think it was on The Footy Show - with a short interview they'd recorded with Bomber at the mid-season wrap on Tuesday. I only caught the tail end though, but I'm pretty sure they said it was a two-year contract. I don't know whether it was an offered contract or a signed contract though.

Re: Thompson re-signs for two years

He has made it clear a written and signed contract is not that important to him and his job.

The media loves anything uncontracted because its a story.

Re: Thompson re-signs for two years

He said a week or two ago that he would most likely sign over the midseason break. But it wasn't a priority.

As I said to a mate this morning. Significant news. You wouldn't think it would be tagged onto the bottom of an article.

Bottom right

They didnt believe you alfy, get stuck into them

Nothing on the Cats site. You would think there would be more press about it if it was real.

I didn't change the title...just to clarify.....but a throwaway sentence at the end of the story about someone else in the HUN article is hardly credible. I wont believe it until I see an official club announcement. But Bomber has said he really enjoys it right now (and why wouldn't he) so I am positive he will resign

I thought Bomber was referring to a written contract, as, IIRC, he, Costa and Cook prefer handshake deals than pieces of paper.

Has anyone broken the bad news to Renegade ?
He's like those old fogie Albert Park protestors and he's still camped outside SS trying to get at least 1 person to sign his petition to sack Bomber. The poor bugger has been there for over 2 years.

:p

Talking about old fogies, did anyone see the letter from Rennis Whitham in yesterday's Advertiser? She basically said Cook didn't try to do enough to get the St.Kilda game moved from Ethiad Stadium. What the hell could he do, considering he's the CEO of the away team for that game?

Poor old bat doesn't want to sit up the top of Level 3 apparently. Diddums.

I got a laugh out of that letter. My first thought when reading it was exactly what you said - it ain't our game.
