Any KP player you pick up in the draft in 2008 is going to take roughly 4-6 years before they are a real contributor to the team. When you have a dominant midfield the KP players look a lot better, not just that but it is much easier to kick goals. Look at the cats forward line - leading goal kicker is on about 38 for the season and is more of a flanker - yet they blow teams away every week because of the strong midfield.

Get Kerr - make your genuine window 2009 - 2012 while the likes of Fev, Judd, Scotland & Stevens are still in peak condition.

West Coast are a minimum 4 years away from being contenders again due to the complete midfield rebuild that's going on - take advantage of it and maybe pick up Embley & Hunter at the same time.

Minimum 4 years...rubbish. You have a nucleus there which won't take that long. A plethora of key defenders, midfielders. JK up forward, Cox in the ruck. You also need to take into account the 'list management' that is taking place at the moment. You're a better team then what your performances are indicating.

I hope we don't trade our first pick and/or a young player like Walker/Bower for Kerr.

I agree with a lot of what you said, the continual we need a CHF cry is driving me nuts.

Geelong key forwards - Mooney,N.Ablett,Hawkins,Longeran (servicable)

Geelong key backs - Scarlett,Harley,Milburn,Taylor (very good combination).

Just keep recruiting good players irespective of position.

I reckon if we had S.Johnson & Chapman in our forward line & Ottens in the ruck, we'd be a top 4 team.

Kreuzer isn't going to take 4-6 years to be a star in the ruck & up forward.

We should trade a second or third round draft pick (or both) + Brad Fisher + Bret Thornton + Ryan Houlihan (who they probably wouldn't want)

The most I'd give up is our first rounder and a player, maybe two. Anything more and we should leave him alone and keep our first pick.

This would still leave us with a second round pick which still means we can get one of the Key Fowards in the draft. We wouldn't be getting a KF with our first pick anyway, it would be best available which means Hurley, Hartlett or Ziebell IMO.

So you think Kerr is worth Ziebell and Walker??

No, I didn't say Walker, I wouldn't give up
Walker, someone like Houlihan or maybe Fisher or Thornton or Simpson (last three are definately not ideal though). I sure our first rounder and Houlihan wouldn't get it done anyway so it wouldn't really matter but that would be the most I'd give up.
