Awesome, look forward to your report :D

I can feel your excitement from behind my screen Matty - you cant wait for the bounce can you?? :p
I've had most of the week off, so I haven't had much to do, which is driving me insane.

Usually the week passes quickly, but not this week (actually 2 weeks).:)

I'm off work tomorrow so will definitely get myself down there. Haven't been to a training this season so looking forward to it.

jim the pharmacist from Greece expecting youre report tomorow Matty.thanks mate

Going off memory here, so forgive me for any over sights or mistakes.

The boys came out about 10.45am, as seems the be the normal time now, and straight away you could see Reid, Taz, Dids and anyone else who had rumours circulating about their fitness were actually out there.

The boys started off with 3/4 of a lap of the oval, before stretching in the goal square at the MCG end, then they divided up for tackling and handball practice, and also some short kicking skills.

Throughout this, the whole squad were involved, but at that point Rounds, Keefe, Sinclair and McCarthy went to the boundary and separated from the main group.

The remaining squad (26 players I think, 22 that played last week plus Thomas, Reid, Buckley and Wood) took part in a pack scenario where Bucks (Nathan) and the other assistants, along with Mick tackled, kicked the ball hard at them, and handballed in close in a very tight pack like situation. When Mick blew his whistle, the player with the ball would then kick the ball forward out of the pack to Dawes who was standing 25 out from the PUnt road goals in a one on one contest with Max Hudghton, Dawesy looked very good.

After this, the full ground exercise occurred, and the boys looked sharp, with the normal back 6 going to the punt road end and looking like their own team within a team, just like normal really. Ben Reid looked very good at times, he sprinted took marks, ran past for handballs and kicked plenty of times off his trusty left foot.

After the full ground exercise, the team retreated to the MCG 50 metre forward region, and did some kick to kick and some goal kicking.

I wasn't watching that though, because "right in front of me";) Reid and Scott Watters were going through a fairly rigorous fitness test, including tackling, marking, kicking, balls delivered at Reids feet, and some general body work. Towards the end of this session, Reidy started to smile, and joke with Watters, which was a great sign.

The rest of the sessions was fairly mundane, and I hard to leave early as my parking meter expired at 11.32, and training was still going.

My consensus;

* I'd be shocked if Ben Reid isn't named tonight, and I would also be shocked if he doesn't play tomorrow.
* Heath Shaw never shuts up.:p
* We practiced with Yellow Balls, which was great in preparation for the night game tomorrow.
* Dawes looked as good as he has in 2-3 months, marking well, moving very well.
* Thomas is just waiting to explode.:eek:

GO PIES.:thumbsu::D

Cheers for the report.

I'll jump on the Dawes bandwagon too, now expecting a great performance from the big fella :thumbsu:

Awesome to have everyone fit and firing ready to come out at 100%

Dawes was a bit of a weak link against Hawthorn last time, so I expect a big game from the boy. Furthermore, he needs a good game to help along his contract negotiations and maintain the interest of other clubs. Reid and Thomas back are welcome inclusions.

Dawes had an excuse last time we played the Hawks, he broke his knuckle in the first quarter, yet despite medical advice to be subbed, he chose to play on and act as a decoy for Travis Cloke, and he still played a part in our big win.

Thanks for the report Matty, need Dawesy to have a big one! Especially if Schoenmakers takes him. Good to hear about Reid as well, will be great to get him back.

Thank **** the game is tomorrow, can't wait much longer!

Thanks Matty, great to hear the news.

Reid and Dawes sound good to go which will make us tougher than ever to beat.

Love hearing what a unit the backline is.
