i feel that I made my views quite clear in my thoughtful response to your colleagues question - no need to repeat myself for you Easty.

Point is Easty - you win - we can't shut you up - you lose - you are invisible. Par for the course though

No you didn't. You mouth off about our recruiting. Take a look at yours. The way you go on anybody would think you were a handful of games ahead of us. I was on the day after the game too. At least I don't troll bigfooty and then after a loss post a fake humble post to avoid as much shame. Nobody will be relenting on you this week even after the obligatory humble post.

Woooooooo! that's terrifying!

I imagine if you win - we won't have to wait too long for your "relentless posts"

remind me were you the twit with the Bummer tatt or was that Windy. Imagine you could cover it with something?

Ok to avoid any criticisms I will tell you when I will be on bigfooty this weekend. After the game is out. Saturday morning I will be able to come on briefly for about 1/2 hour. Saturday afternoon I may be on as we have the bye. Sunday morning looks ok for a while. Happy?

I check my diary and see if I can squeeze you in.

you forgot to answer the tatt bit?

What about our first draft pick and Angus Monfries for Jason Cloke? Some Essendon supporters may disagree but you have to give up quality to get quality. I know that Collingwood has played hardball in the past (eg. Nick Stevens) but would this deal be satisfactory? Any side with a Cloke in it is going to be hard to stop and you will still have the two remaining Clokes. What do you want for Neon Leon?

Lets not forget Danny Roach.

As if you would be proud of a captain like that?

You want a captain that can inspire, lift a team - not a dead set fu*kin pis.sweak coward.

I was quite surprised to see this thread still going, when I logged on tonight. By many of the comments, it is blatantly obvious that many of you are extremely young. Being young is not a crime, but your memories of hating and despising Essendon would be very recent. My hatred for them stems back from the day I could talk.
I remember a story my mother told me many years back. It was a game in the late 40s, early 50s at Windy Hill. Essendon were on a roll and had only lost a couple of games that year. Hawthorn, on the other hand were the chopping block of the competition and never got to within 10 goals of anyone. It was 3|4 time and the Hawks were down by 6 or 7 goals, whilst Hawthorn were getting their 3|4 time address by their coach, the Essendon filth were jogging around the boundary line with pageant girls. Their coach didn't feel the need to have a chat with them and the Essenfilth didn't feel they needed it either. My mum still can describe the rage she felt until this day. How dare those bastards insult our club like that!
There is a happy ending to the story, the Hawthorn coach must have used it as motivation too, because Hawthorn got up by 2 goals.[Their first win for that season]
My memories as a little girl at Windy Hill, coming out of the ground with my Peter Knights duffle coat on, covered in saliva from drunken Essendon sewer rats.
I could go on forever but I am sure you all get the picture.

That's actually a great story (not taking the urine here), I love the way football unites people and family.

But is that the last time Hawthorn beat Essendon? ;)

Actually no. I remember the 1983 grand final like it was yesterday. The only thing I can compare the elation to, is when I had my children. :p

It is amazing how people think Vanders is a coward. I was at that match last year and I didn't see Vanders take a backward step from anyone. Essendon people have applauded and encouraged this type of football for years. Twelve months later, they are still talking about the day Hawthorn gave it back to them with "interest"
Interesting statistic, in case anyone wasn't aware. Essendon have won a couple more games than Hawthorn since that day. I wander if it mentally knocked them around as well. :D :D

I think you will find that its your younger Hawthorn followers who bring it up. All we care about at Essendon is results and we aren't happy and aren't embracing the position we are in.

The fight is of little consequence to us, but what we will do is defend our players when required.

I don't think hes a coward. Far from it. But IMO he does not have the talent to lead on the field. But I don't play for the Hawks so I don't know but they might all look up to him as a class(ier) player or something

Vanders is struggling badly with form at the moment, but that wasn't what I took offence to. To say he is a coward is just Essendonlike.

Longy, all I care about is results too. Bring on round 20!

I'm surprised that the Hawthorn people are so proud of that fight, did it really prove anything? You were in that match up until you decided boxing was better than football, then got absolutely embarassed. Give me an 80+ point thumping of Hawthorn any day rather than 'winning' (Which is impossible, but for the sake of your argument we'll assume it is) a melee.

I think Vanders is a courageous player don't get me wrong, but courageus wasn't sticking around throwing little fisty cuffs for the rest of the match, it was putting your head over the next contested football knowing how hard you would be hit. Like the Essendon boys did to your mob after the fight.

Nick, I am not proud of that fight at all, but what really gives me the screaming s h i t s, is twelve months down the track my football side are still being bad mouthed. Your mob have played this way for years but when the tables are turned, the Essendon people and or Kevin Sheedy have the ordasity to whinge. It's hypocrisy at it's best.
