Players are getting taller and more athletic .....IMO 192 cm KPP will be a thing of the past

More like Talia going forward ....195/196cm

The game's cyclic. Just when one trend emerges which seems to be the norm, the game does a 180 and trends in the opposite direction. I agree you couldn't have all players at 192 but if you have a Talia then a guy like Grundy would be an awesome foil.

They'll pulp them.

I know a Vic club who had to do the same because they spelt a players name wrong ;)

FTR - I don't think the Sydney guys in this thread have been bad at all; they've made a couple of the usual silly statements, but they've actually discussed them properly.

But we have Otten and Shaw at 193cm plus .....IMO Tippett would take Rutten to the cleaners
Just think we need another extra tall KPP in Talia sizing

You know this mate, but that's exactly why Tippett is so valuable.

On his day, he makes big defenders look undersized.

Parker is and will be a very good player ....but he's an inside mid and with Crouch coming in next year we just don't need another inside mid .....it's outside speed we need
Do you think Brodie smith might have a greater role in the midfield next yr to start training up to become a speedy mid with a booming kick, or will he spend another year in his post down back doing his apprenticeship?

Daniel Talia - 196cm
Luke Thompson - 196cm :D
Sorry needed to qualify ...with talent ;):p

No seriously I'd be happy with L.Thompson as a 3rd tall ....but not as a KPD

I'm certainly hoping he gets a lot more midfield time.

Unfortunately his body is not big enough yet ...... I think, depending on team balance, he'll play another season at HB or as a defensive wingman which is my preferred position at this stage

He is however very very good at clearances and is able to kick long & low to forwards ....but importantly he can kick at angles that for a defender is hard to read

Anyone seriously suggesting Sydney would give up Hannebery or Jack have rocks in their head.
would and should have different meanings and only one applies here...

It doesn't matter about height. As long as they are strong enough to hold down a key post the that's good enough. Otten/Shaw are taller/same height as Rutten but I doubt both will ever be KPP's. They just don't have the build/aren't strong enough. Rutten on the other hand while short, is extremely strong which is important, you can't be rag dolled/pushed off by a key forward. Look at guys like Ted Richards, Rance, Gibson etc.- all are very good key defenders because they are strong (even though they are short).

Stick him in a gym over the summer so he can put on a bit of grunt i think, so he will be more confident in the middle. I will be frothing out of my japeye next year watching danger bursting through a pack with 3 players hanging off him, feeding out a handball to brodie, dashing to the edge of the centre square before unloading a 60 m beast straight over the goal umpires hat.

oh come on, the swans fans arent being that unreasonable.
seriously, skurt isnt as good as he's getting paid. yes i want picks one, two, three and the best players but we arent going to get it. and the swans arent going to give up the best players they have either. everyone tries to trade to win, not trade to make evens.

Indeed. He's going to be really good. Still vividly remember him scooping the ball up off the ground with one hand at near full pace and about to be off in the prelim against the Hawks, only for the umpires to pay a bullshit free kick.

Also, love the name haha. "I used to be legit. I was too legit. Too legit to quit. But now I'm not legit, I'm unlegit. And for that reason, I must quit" :D

"We have bent over backwards for this guy," said Chapman.
His club not only made Tippett the highest-paid player - $700,000 a season - but also went to extraordinary lengths to deal with his homesickness and dislike of Adelaide life, including moving his brother Joel to SA.
"If he wanted to go home, I get it," Chapman said.
"If he wanted to go back to his family, I get it.
"But to now tell us that he wants to leave Adelaide to go to another club, that grates on me at the moment."
Adelaide had long expected Tippett to this week tell the Crows he was either signing a new deal at West Lakes or seeking a "go-home" trade to the Gold Coast or Brisbane.
But Blucher yesterday said: "We will assess the interest of other clubs and present them to Kurt. He will then make a decision."
Sydney leads the auction for Tippett with an offer of $1 million a season. But the Swans are struggling to come up with a deal of players or draft picks to satisfy Adelaide when trade talks open at Etihad Stadium on Monday morning.
Tippett told Adelaide football operations manager Phil Harper of his decision to quit the Crows at 9.15am. Central to Tippett's explanation was "a need for change" in where he lived.

Those clean moments/plays from brodie throughout the year are much to look forward to, once he builds greater consistency - it looked he was towards the end of the h&A + finals.

Most quotable film i've ever seen - "Pool's are Perfect for Holding water" :thumbsu:

sorry in advance if this has already been discussed, but i'm not about to go through 700 posts to check.

we simply cannot trade Tippett to Sydney if we dont at least break even on the deal. Under no circumstances can we improve one of our known realistic competitors for next years flag without improving ourselves.

If Tippett declares the Swans as his destination, they must pay appropriately, and it needs to address an area of weakness for us immediately (unless the club is dismissing next year and looking longer term which i doubt)

if they cant/wont, then it's the draft for Kurt.
