TIPPETT must agree to join the club that satisfies Adelaide in a deal. Trade talks open in Melbourne on Monday.
IF Tippett does not sanction the trade, he can nominate for the pre-season draft on December 11. Greater Western Sydney has the first pick, but cannot claim Tippett because it already has poached an uncontracted Crow Phil Davis last year. Gold Coast has the second pick.

GOLD COAST needs to lift its monetary offers to stop Tippett choosing the Swans.
Adelaide's asking price from the Suns could be any of SA trio Daniel Gorringe, Sam Day and Seb Tape - and draft picks.
But the Crows could finish empty handed if trade month closes on October 26 with Tippett not at a new club and nominating for the pre-season draft.
Adelaide list manager David Noble last night acknowledged the risk of being uncompensated by losing Tippett in the pre-season draft - as Port Adelaide famously did with Nick Stevens in 2004.
"That is why we will seek the best possible deal for Kurt," said Noble.
"We have to be comfortable with the trade. We will be listening to whatever offers are put to us. But we do understand Kurt can use the pre-season draft to get to Gold Coast anyway," Noble said.

Sigh. I think I'm gonna do my best to ignore this nonsense from here on out. It's too stressful to think about.
It feels more and more like we'll, again, get shafted.

Bahaha imagine that...Tippet, thinking he's leaving adelaide for the sunny paradise of the gold coast, only to end up in the thug shithole that is western sydney
Caq't happen, GWS cannot take him or any other pkayer from us...

This PSD possibility means we'll be absolutely shafted. I think the Caddy compo is the best we can hope for. Why on Earth would GC give up anything of worth when they can get him for free? There won't be any nice gestures. GWS and Sheedy may help in getting some rudimentary compensation.

I'm getting the feeling we have well and truly been played by $Kurt$, we're most likely cooked!!

to top it all off, it looks like FoxFooty are replaying the entire season chronologically right now. so i sit down when i got home tonight and Crows v Suns (Round 1) is on.

then i see some dirty flog running around in number 4 for us and instead of enjoying what was an excellent season of crows games this offseason, now i'll be cursing everytime Kurse Tippett goes near the footy.

The relevant line being that "Greater Western Sydney has the first pick, but cannot claim Tippett because it already has poached an uncontracted Crow Phil Davis last year. "
Is that certain? Picking up un-contracted players via the PSD surely falls under different rules to how we lost Bock and Davis?
No it's incorrect

McGregor  I hope not!

I do rate Tippett, but there's just something about watching Jenkins. While certainly different to Tippett (can't seeing him being a contested marking beast for example), like Kurt, he seems to be able to do things that guys his size shouldn't be able to. As cliche as the term is, he has that x-factor about him, and is incredibly athletic for his size. I see him as being somebody who can create a contest in a pack situation, but would probably be better on the lead.
Nothing wrong with McGregor. Sure, he was no Modra, Walker, Tippett, Pavlich or Carey - but he was a very good footballer in his own right. He was good enough to play 152 games for Adelaide. If Jenkins is anywhere near that good then we'll have done very well indeed.

Here we are:

http://www.aflnswact.com.au/index.p...ws]=771&tx_ttnews[backPid]=4&cHash=26df80c468

GWS can sign up to 16 current uncontracted AFL players. They can sign one player from each AFL club unless a club agrees to trade more than one player to the club. These uncontracted players can be signed at the end of the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Clubs with uncontracted players who choose to play for the club will be given compensations draft picks from the AFL.

I can't see any reason why not.. provided they have a vacancy left on their list to use in the PSD - which is no certainty given that they have to shrink the size of their list this year.
Their list doesn't shrink for 3 years

No it's incorrect
They can't take him in the PSD... unless we grant them permission, allowing them to do so. Normally a player has to agree to a trade, but that agreement would be implicit in Tippett's decision to nominate for the PSD (assuming things get that far - which they won't). Thus Tippett has effectively given his permission, so all that would be required is for Adelaide to give their permission.. and Tippett ends up at GWS.

I suppose trade is the key word. Picking him up in the PSD isn't covered.

Basically we are going to need Kurt to man up on this. He stated we've done the right thing by him, he has to put some pressure on GC to ensure we are compensated.

Is that interpretation a stretch?

Just checked the AFL Player Rules document and it appears that you're correct. GC's list shrank from 48 to 46 after 1 year and goes from 46 to 42 at the end of this year, but GWS' list remains fixed at "44-50" until 2014.

That's a little murky... Key word there is trade. The draft isn't mentioned at all. Could interpret that either way.
I can imagine us seeking clarification, and, like the Gibbs saga, it will be amended to shaft us completely.

^^ I found that too but yeah, it says TRADE.. Nothing about they can be taken in the draft with the other clubs permission..

The other thing is that Davis left last year.. How many drafts does it go on for that GWS can't take one of our players in a draft because they took Davis as an uncontracted player?
Maybe because they have a 2 year window to take uncontracted players, it covers 2 years also?
Or this year, they should really be able to take players of ours you would think..

Not a stretch, it's a safeguard to ensure that GC/GWS couldn't stonewall clubs and force players into the PSD for a freebie...

Send him to GWS it will have the least effect of hurting us in our flag window and only if we are offered beans for Kurt baby other clubs.
