Swannies are loyal to our own we will keep Armstrong goes well as a stop gap player and sub, or as my dad would say good cheap cap filler.

Parker is a top player although inconsistent at times his problem is that he's fighting for a spot in the midfield and hes just not up to there level.

With rohan back from injury if all goes well we have Parker covered and get extra pace back into the team.

We don't want to give up Parker but like you said you wont take Armstrong back.

Parkers not some spud and it shouldnt be reflected badly on Parker that he's first up on the trade table he's a good kid and still developing.

He's worth more than pick 10 to start off with and I believe your club would know this and would have a strategy on how to gain this pick or player to gain Tippett.

He is a key position forward who was ranked 3rd for contested marks. He too 50 contested marks in 21 games, if you add his alleged salary (something your club would have offered mind you - not his asking price) is also enough evidence to suggest he is worth more than pick 10.

I'm thinking pick 4 to 6 is around the mark and a point where Sydney should be aiming at.

When you're offering a guy $1M a year, or there abouts, you clearly rate hi a little higher than pick 10.

Why can't Port throw their hat in the ring just to give this story a comedic undertone?

It doesn't have enough of a comedic undertone for you already.

Anyway, be nobody left at Port soon. He'd have to sweep the clubrooms after training. :D

If it's Sydney then pick 22 (or Luke Parker) plus Alex Johnston (Johnson?) which gives us the key defender that we need. Johnston and Talia would be a good KPD combo for ten years.
Sydney won't like it but you have to give quality to get quality.

Are you taking the piss? You expect us to give up Kennedy aswell?

Mate Johnston is the future of our back 6, Grundy was more the bloke I'm thinking about when I said backmen.

Had a dream last night is Kennedy signed for the swans?

In my dream Kennedy went to Melbourne for pick 4, pick 4 to us, and tippet to sydney.

There was also elephants but I think that was irrelevant.

I wouldn't worry about it. The whole dream sounds pretty irrelephant if you ask me... wait ;)

Issue is we've already got a bunch of young players of similar quality and type who are struggling to get a game for similar reasons. Theres little point in us obtaining Parker as he is not a significant improvement on our current stock. You'd probably be better off trading him back to Victoria to a club that might actually utilise him and on trading what you get in return.

So what is a fair trade for someone that you are prepared to pay $1M and you've got the last PSD pick?

And they are going to have pay us big time to get him. We are going to be pricks about this and I can't wait to see it.

Hence why I can see us attempting to try and get him to Brisbane who have a few more and better trading cards to play than Sydney.

Sydney I expect would have to be a 3 or even 4 way deal, now that we've removed Johnston off their hands and they were premiers, they really don't have terribly much to offer us.

That could work and may establish the higher pick that Tippett demands but that still leaves us with a problem Parker at best would get us pick 8-10
Would Grundy plus pick 8 and 22 get the deal done?

It would be a bit disingenuous to try and recruit a guy, offer him $1m a year instantly making him your highest player (in the reigning premiership team) and then turn around and say to the club you're trying to trade with that's he's not worth much...Johnston is less important to your team than Tippett is to ours.

FFS - this is going to be a long month and the deal won't get done until he last day of the trade month.

Come Monday morning, Sydney will offer junk and we will outright say no. This will go back and forth for about a week or 2 until Sydney just break off negotiations in the hope they scare us off as a sign of them not budging and us getting afraid of not getting any deal at all.

This will go on for about another week and Sydney will be hoping it gets to the point where we will just accept anything. We will hold firm and show some strength, holding firm right up until the afternoon of the final day of trade month and in the end accept something like pick 22 and 40 odd for Tippett.

This will be a bullshit month.

Alleged is the key.

I sincerely doubt swans would offer 1 mil to Tippett and after the figure coming from Brisbane list manager after a talk with tippetts manager...

Asides I believe this is all semantics as he hasn't nominated a club.

The other situation is that neither club comes to an agreement Brisbane don't baulk and he walks to GC which gives us a small amount of leverage in the trading department.

Anyway for the record I'm against recruiting him. Asides from the cap space he takes and forcing out younger may unsettle the playing group. Asides we shall see

Id take Grundy and pick 22. Key defenders are in short supply! We needs desperately

First off he wont be on a mill per year it maybe a million dollar contract but not per year

Secondly johnston is more important then tippett Johnson won us a flag FFS he was outstanding in granny and with our aging backline is well needed there's no point strengthening the forward line if it's going it drastically weaken our back 6 particularly when johnsons the sort of player our so called flingshot counter attack is based around.

Well, let's be real here for a second. You're not against recruiting him. You're against paying his market value.

If Sydney gain his services, you will be cheering for him. So, please don't say you're against recruiting him.

Not if both Talia and Rutten are fit, no we don't. A combo of Talia, Rutten and Shaw/Otten is a more than capable defence. What we really need is someone to replace Rutten in 1-2 years time and provide adequate backup/support until then. Considering the way half the Swans supporters are talking about Grundy, I'm not sure we really should be that interested in him.
