Except we aren't loosing our players if this deal doesn't go ahead, you loose Tippett one way or the other PSD and hope the AFL gives you fair compensation in the future or you deal with us The choice is yours.

Doubt the preseason draft is much of a threat unless Kurt wants to potentially end up at GWS. Gold Coast clearly aren't prepared to offer close to what he wants so even if GWS didn't take him, there's no assurances Gold Coast would depending on his contractual demands, could really end up anywhere.

He'll end up getting traded and despite what some of the Sydney supporters are trying to push on us, their club will be far more professional. Both Adelaide and Sydney have a good relationship when it comes to trading, there's a lot of respect between the two so I'd suspect negotiations would run a little smoother than many would expect. The issue is Sydney would probably have to trade one or two of their young Victorian players back to Victoria to find something that might interest us in a trade.

There's a good chance that we'd be willing and the Swans might be interested, in our packaging Aiden Riley in as a part of the deal.

I'm not suggesting we would get that in a deal though but people should stop pretending that Parker is tempting for us. He's not THAT good and we don't need him.

Rohan or Johnson and a pick perhaps even though you think they're sacred. Tippett was sacred too.

Johnson isn't as good as Tippett ether like some other Swans flog suggested.

If Sydney get Tippet, their 15% extra salary cap is going to be the target of all clubs in the AFL until its gone. Be assured of it.

I think its about time it was gone anyway. All clubs have their challenges but Sydney's challenge is the only one that is getting a concession from the AFL. We have problems retaining players from interstate but get nothing. West Coast and Freemantle have that issue too, and also travel much further than anyone but get nothing. Its time for Sydney to compete on an equal salary cap to everyone else.

No, he wasn't. The only time he played reserves was when he was coming back from a broken collarbone. Before that he was consistently amongst Sydney's best performers.

For Tippett on his own, no it won't happen. Thrown in our 1st and maybe 2nd rounder and suddenly it's not such a bad deal.

Brisbane aren't that far off challenging for the 8, look at how they took us to the cleaners late in the year. They've got talent, but what they lack is a KPF replacement/partner for Brown. Brown was always at his best when partnered with Bradshaw, Fevola or Clark, otherwise the Lions get too predictable and it's too easy for defenders to zone off and go 3rd and even 4th man up against him. Throw Tippett in suddenly they become a much more fearsome prospect.

The market is slightly different in Brisbane, they can't afford to spend too much time in the bottom half of the ladder, they rushed into grabbing Fevola for this very reason. Tippett is a far better option and for them worth giving up a mid who is yet to be a regular best 22 player and pick 8 which is unlikely to fill any immediate needs. There's certainly not too many worthwhile KPP options available at that pick.

Kurts manager has told AFC that they were happy with the financial package offered.
The reason why Kurt wants to go to Sydney or Queensland is that he was sick of all the media attention and wants to play somewhere where he gets little media/public attention. The final straw was the way he was treated by the media/public over his concussion issues.
He also believes NSW/Queensland lifestyle is more to his liking.

*Wonder how kurt will fit into the Sydney culture of team over individuals.
Should be interesting.

You just don't get it do you, right now our gameplan relies on blokes like Johnson taking him out of the side weakens that gameplan weakens the team as a whole and put pressure on our structures it weakens the team.

You build your team around your gameplan right now right this minute johnson is more important to that gameplan then Tippett, plus Johnson offers a bright future for our defence.

We are a strong defensive team and always will be. It would be great to nab Tippett but not at the expense of weakening the team forcing ys to shift our gameplan as a whole the fact is we just got a flag without a strong key forward the same could not be said if we didn't have Johnson playing a blinder on the 29th.
