whilst it would be bad for the Crows

how ******* funny would it be if the Swans pulled the offer
Can just imagine Bluchers response, Even though Kurt was born in Sydney he is a gold coast boy at heart. Also some of his family who are over 5ft9, that lived in Sydney have recently relocated to the Gold Coast.

Ball got through in the main draft, not the PSD, but only because no-one else wanted him due to injury concerns. Everyone will want Tippett with the only sticking point being his asking wage.
Combined with the fact that he refused to even do a medical examination at any other club, so Collingwood were the only club with any idea what sort of player they would be getting.

He obviously isn't as valued as much though cos he's not on 1 million per year!
He may be a better player but he's not as important to structure. If he was of more value then sydney wouldnt trade him.
You can build a team around the likes of Tippet for what he brings to the table with his ability to ruck when not taking the key defender. Absolute gold these types and we will notice his absence next year.
Midfielders Ha! dime a dozen. Look at Ablett he managed a million possessions and polled very well in the Brownlow but even he could not lift the GC past mediocrity. On the other hand Kurt in the same side and playing well would have lifted them dramatically.

Those bashing the manager should remember that EVERY SINGLE MANAGER is an absolutely disgusting human being....whilst doing his job. They may be nice at home or round a barby....but David Cloke, Liam Pickering, Judd's manager, Ricky Nixon are professional scum who will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get the best deal for their client....and if that includes having every afl ceo/manager/fan hate them then they'll wear it.

Actually scrub Nixon from that list we know for a fact that he is also a horrible human being outside of the deal table. :-)

Think Ari Gold in Entourage. but everyone loves Ari Gold?!!

Might as well have a crack at a theoretical trade myself. :)

Collingwood has Dawes and Wellingham looking for the way out, so they just might be the 3rd party that gets a trade done with Sydney.

Lets assume that Dawes and Adelaide's 3rd rounder goes to Melbourne for pick 13.

Lets also assume that Wellingham - who would be a great fit for Adelaide - is prepared to go there

Although Reid has recently signed a 5 year contract with Sydney, I'm sure that he would jump at the opportunity to go home and play with his brother at Collingwood.

And of course Treacherous Tippett goes to Sydney at a cost to Sydney of Reid and Pick 22.

Melbourne: In: Dawes, Adelaide's 3rd Out: Pick 13

Collingwood: In: Reid, Adelaide's 2nd Out: Dawes, Wellingham, Collingwood's 2nd

Sydney: In: Tippett Out: Reid, Pick 22

Adelaide: In: Wellingham, Pick 13, Pick 22, Collingwood's 2nd Out: Tippett, Adelaide's 2nd, Adelaides 3rd

Leaves Adelaide with 4 draft picks - 13, 20,22 and Collingwood's 2nd.

All theoretical of course, and unlikely to happen, but IMO would be a fairly good trade for all parties.

If Sydney are trading to get Tippett so he can play alongside Reid, then that becomes difficult if he is at the pies.

I would be happy with
Collingwood lose Dawes, Wellingham and pick 19
Collingwood gains: Reid and pick 45 (39 or 26 at best)

Melbourne lose 4 and 45 (26 at worst)
Melbourne get Dawes, Wellingham and pick 19

Adelaide loose: Tips and 39
Adelaide gain 4 and 61

Sydney loose Reid and 61
Sydney gain Tips and 39 (26 at best)

Sydney win too much. Tippet and 39 for Reid and 61? Does not compute. Reid is not worth more than Tippett yet.

Na, the point I was make was, in Big Footy world - your own player is one of 2 things, a massive gun and is worth pick 1 in any draft or not going anywhere until proven otherwise.

This trend occurs across all teams, not just Sydney.
you missed number 3: is a complete overrated overpaid waste of oxygen who should be put out of his misery. FAST.

This. Also if he is keen to go home then why sign a 5 year deal?

Maybe he was expecting his brother to be heading to either the Swans or GWS at the end of the year?

I think Reid leaving is very unlikely, but Sydney putting such a big offer to Tippett straight after winning a flag does make you wonder. If any of your high profile players were to leave for Melbourne, I'd be going with Kennedy, but that seems pretty unlikely too.

Gunston and 53 and 71 went to hawks and we got back 24, 46 and 64 last year.

Tippet must go for more than tha and I don't mean pick 22 Kurt is at least twice the player jack was at the time of the trade. Need a top 10 pick or player equivalent or it's not worth strengthening the premiers.

Looking at our list it is quite surprising how much money is running around in ressies eg Seaby, white both of who will be gone by end next year when contracts need to be renewed. Also Bolton may be playing his last year too. There is a fair bit of cash.

If players were leaving it would be complete dissatisfaction about the whole getting of tippett and not financial

It could be complete dissatisfaction with anything. We weren't exactly languishing at the bottom this year, and from all reports, the players have thoroughly enjoyed playing under Sanderson. Tippett was already being paid very well, and had an offer put to him that increased his pay and secured his next 5 years, despite the concussion worries, and yet still chose to leave. Just like some people don't enjoy living in Adelaide, some people don't enjoy living in Sydney either.

I actually didn't mention money, and was more alluding to the Swans perhaps knowing something about a player wanting out that nobody else does yet. You guys have just won a flag, and already have a young, promising key forward. Just seems a little odd that you'd then go and throw a big deal at Tippett, who will likely change your proven flag winning structure.

It does seem odd I'll grant that. Swans have always been a mystery with trading even to us. Most years we doubt them and feel cheated and they manage to do something.

We may have a player going out but I can't see who it'd be, it would definitely come from way out of left field

Adelaide Crows vow to drive hard bargain for defecting forward Kurt Tippett during trade period.

Nice work JR was going to post this...too quick.:)
I am liking what Chapman has "reportedly" said saying to play hardball with the numbnut Blucher and his gentlemen's agreement whoha. Also liking Sando's statement about us pinching some players with our free $800K. Grain of salt Rooch and all. Going to be an interesting day. Back to work today so twitter will be my friend. Hope FAITH can give us some good mail.
Sure to be @ least 30 pages to wade through once I get home tonight.
