Quigley's mock draft rated him at #10.

Definitely would have been a first rounder.
absolutely ....rated a definite top 10 draft pick

Will he go GWS .....maybe Parker will get same result with GWS ?

Sydney's reputation as fair traders is being shot to absolute shit as this goes on an BigFooty have banned the word that most aptly describes what they are trying to do to us.
But Sydney haven't done anything yet for us to complain

All the 2 clubs have done is have a coffee day 1 and then another brief chat b4 a free day yesterday

Just prelim work by both clubs ......just be patient ;)

Apologies, still think it's pure optimism.

I think it has far more chance of getting over the line if Mitchell is the player attached. SOS quoted today or yesterday as saying he thinks he's the best player on an AFL list we haven't seen yet.

(For Mitchell) You'll be taking his quite large salary for his age (had to fight off GWS) and the fact he has reoccurring shoulder injuries. Only played a few reserves games last year as his body kept failing.

Ridiculous talent though. I hope we keep him.

I for one don't think Mitchell is on the table, but I don't think his wage would be a problem if he was. We have a fair war chest built up on trying to retain Tippett himself that we are going to need to spend somewhere.

For a kid of his proposed talent he would be worth paying for, if he is on the table I would be wondering just how bad his injuries are?

He could end up being a case of a hugely talented kid whose body doesn't let him hit the heights that he should.

Definitely interested, but it is incredibly doubtful.

The way this is going someone decent is going to get coughed up, we don't know who (still doubt it's Mitchell), but they will be of reasonable quality.

Now it's not Grundy and we won't take a Jesse White type when we can get him for free later (that's if we even want him). So you list of candidates is shrinking by the day.

You guys can keep Tippett if it means giving up Mitchell. There is no way i want Tippett at the Swans if Mitchell is the reason he is there.

Guess what bud, you don't have a choice. :p

Frankly, all this stuff about the "Bloods Culture" seems a mile overstated to me. I don't really think there is any such thing as the "Bloods Culture" - or if there is, it's a name for something pretty much every club in the league already has.

Sydney have not been as successful as they are because of some kind of mystical culture. They've been as successful as they are because they've been well managed, well coached, and their players have gotten the most out of themselves.

Absolutely spot on.

Either it's way overstated, or they left the "Bloods culture" back at the SCG the previous time they played at the MCG(*), when Richmond creamed them. Or in Round 22, when they let a 38 point lead at home to Hawthorn evaporate.

Sydney, like every other team, win games and lose games. They win finals and lose finals. They've got a culture, but so does every other team.

(*) I note that's Jesse White's last game for the Swans. Maybe Jesse doesn't have the "Bloods culture" which is why every 2nd trade proposed by a Sydney supporter has his name in it?:p

White has requested a trade, that is why .

I do. I plan on going to Swans headquarters today naked and covered in pigs blood and i will state my case as why Mitchell should not be traded.

With a number 4 painted on your back? :P

Listening to Noble last night I now have my doubts that we will at least break even
in this trade. Don't think I could cope with another pantsing in trade week.

C'mon Nobes, be strong champ. Get us over the line.

how ridiculous that the AFL are going to wait until mid way through the trade period to announce the compo picks - of course they will have an impact on the trade period, I would have thought that would be plain ****ing obvious.

seriously, its like they make shit up on the run and never seem to do anything in a manner which reflects the multi billion dollar business they run.

Bingo. Also, imagine if Adelaide had the extra salary cap that we could go and buy a high commodity power
forward every couple of years ie. Lockett, Hall and now Tippett. This is a huge advantage. No other team has been able to buy as many of this type of player as Sydney has. You throw a top tier power forward (Hall, Pavlich etc) into the AFC line up of 2005/2006 and we at least play in a grand final.

Excuse me but when was the last time the Swans went after a big named player in trade week?
