Ireland also said they dont want to...
-trade any premiership players
-trade any promising youngsters
- do want to keep and use their draft picks
He said he didn't want to, not that he wouldn't, calm down

A number of ways I could take this, what do you mean?

I'm saying your hatred of anyone who leaves the crows, would allow you to want him to miss and for the Swans to get ****ed over.

I was also simply being factious

Jenkins will play as a key defender.
What makkes you say it will be so? Able to kick bags of goals at SANFL level and given time he could be handy in that forward role.. There is this talk of him playing as a defender purely on height and our obvious need for key defenders. I say if he is going to play defence he needs a good solid year playing there first.

Just have FAITH guys. In Noble and FAITH we trust.

The only info i got today is that Sydney are being tight asses.
Obviously Ireland isnt gonna come out and say Mitchell was/is being shopped around. But believe me their recruiting team did shop him around.

Harper on 5AA not filling me with confidence, would rather take something than nothing.

We are still looking to trade in a player so we might have only 2 picks. If we end up with 3 good picks we would have to use them surely?

So Sydney are being tight arses and Noble reckons the meeting was positive, something doesn't add up

Do any Adelaide supporters get the feeling the Crows are holding out for a really good deal from Sydney or else they will just trade with the Gold Coast? It just seems to me that Sydney will not offer anything that Adelaide will be 100% happy with. In the case of the Suns there are more than enough pieces there to appease the club and supporters. I get the feeling the longer a deal isn't done with Sydney the more chance there is of Adelaide just trading with Gold Coast instead. Anyone else get this feeling?

Did the AFL ever spell out the benefit of expanding the trade period to 4 weeks?

I can understand having 2 week (one week for free agency and one week for trade) but what's thew point of the extra 2 weeks. This is going to be a nightmare.

Why would the Gold Coast do that?

They can pick him up in the PSD for nothing. If they can satisfy him financially via a trade, I'm sure they could satisfy him via the PSD.

There is no incentive for the GC to do that.

It seems like this is our strategy, we won't let him slide to the PSD and we wouldn't pick him again anyway, but can you be fair even though you don't have to?

Hmm...let me crystal ball.

We will end up with 22 and their second rounder.22 will be passed on for giles.

The spin will be we needed to move quickly or lose Giles and we see him as a near enough replacement for tippett. In any event this is no less than what we may have expected if he had gone home.

Thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys.

Just listening to Harper on the radio and I have absoutely no faith we'll get anything decent out of this. It's an absolute joke.
Sydney are being absolutely cutthroat in every interview. We're the complete opposite.

The call that we'll NEVER redraft Tippett is ****ing stupid. You don't have to have any intention of doing so, and I would hope that we never would - but you DON'T SHOW YOUR HAND. Who the **** taught these monkeys to negotiate? They're throwing the only bargaining chips we have away. Even if it seems completely unrealistic, that small element of doubt that we might actually be serious, combined with the fact that there are 16 other clubs in the league who have a PSD pick before Sydney - two of which have been heavily linked to and interested in Kurt this year, might get us a better deal.
What we've been told is that we're committed to dealing with Sydney, and HOPE to get the best deal we can. In other words, we're letting Sydney dictate terms. Harper scoffed at the idea that we could let Kurt go for nothing, rather than threatening it. They can't be completely 100% sure one of the other clubs isn't looking to swoop for free. Why are we not publicly threatening we'll let him go via the PSD if we don't get a good deal? Why are we completely at the mercy of Sydney and Kurt? If this is what our club is saying to the fans publicly, what the hell are they saying to Sydney? All the talks seems to be preparing us for disappointment.

It defies belief.
It's not often I completely agree with Cornes, but he's dead on.
Soft effort, Adelaide.

Kurt is not a free agent.
Harper: "We won't get another player like Kurt Tippett, we just hope we can get the best deal possible." How ****ing defeatist is that?

Rolling over like this is the same thing that cost us Rendell.

Pathetic.

Sydney are being tight, but theres still 2 and a half weeks it will work out...
The sticky point is which 1 or 2 of their really good players will be shipped out.

Yep, its Gunston all over again. We are a bunch of soft *****. So much for Trigg stating we will trade him to the club where we can get the best deal.

Whilst Port are a basket case as least when they lose a player they go hard, 2 first rd picks for the Burgoyne and yet we are going to lose a KPF on $1M and we will get slops.

We must send him to the PSD than accept 22 and 42 for example...

Do we start bombarding Harpers email address?

The club needs to take a stand... If we get bent over head must roll starting with Harper

To us or another team and why would they when they don't have to?

So FAITH are you saying Ireland lied on radio today when he said Mitchell wasn't on the table?
Are we still looking at a multi club trade?

Mitchell was shopped around by their recruiting team.
Were they overuled, or did other clubs not offer enough for him i'm not sure.
still 2.5 weeks wait and see.

Trigg said we would negotiate with team that we want, does he think we have no memory?

I'm getting very bad vibes on this Tippett trade.

Rowey is repeatedly saying that yes, he will be traded to Sydney, but it won't be pretty. All we will get is pick 22.

He is saying that there are complications associated with Tippett's previous contract which will impact adversely on this trade.

He won't say what it is but there must be something because when Phil Harper came on Rowey mentioned again that Tippett's trade will be adversely affected by something associated with his previous contract and would Harper like to talk about it.

Harper didn't refute it at all, but said that no, he wouldn't, and would rather talk about positives like Callinan being promoted to the main list.

Harper definitely wanted to get away from this topic as quickly as he could. His response virtually confirmed that what Rowey is saying is fact.

Cornesy has been pumping Rowey both before and after the Harper interview about his comments, but all that Rowey will say is that it will come out when the final trade is announced.

I hope to hell that it isn't as drastic as Rowey believes it is, but after hearing Rowey and Harper talking, I've lost complete hope of getting anywhere near a fair deal for the money-grabbing Gold Coast arseh*le.
