We must send him to the PSD than accept 22 and 42 for example...

Do we start bombarding Harpers email address?

The club needs to take a stand... If we get bent over head must roll starting with Harper
If we get bent over, I'm going to the AGM and demand Steven Trigg or Phil Harper hand in the resignation as this has turned into a load of shit.

Dandy_GO you make insanely good sense.
I really think we will get screwed in all this
I cannot believe the soft c*** stance we are taking on this.
Eddie McGuire always gets used in this example, but he would NEVER let this happen!!!
I will apologise if we get a good deal, but for now, I am f***ing livid

Mitchell was shopped around by their recruiting team.
Were they overuled, or did other clubs not offer enough for him i'm not sure.
still 2.5 weeks wait and see.
I think Ireland effectively overruled it today.

Any info on the players you could pass on in regards to the sticking point? More so curious as much as anythinh

Yep, its Gunston all over again. We are a bunch of soft cocks. So much for Trigg stating we will trade him to the club where we can get the best deal.

Whilst Port are a basket case as least when they lose a player they go hard, 2 first rd picks for the Burgoyne and yet we are going to lose a KPF on $1M and we will get slops.
It has long term implications too.
Perhaps clubs have learned that if they play hardball with us, we'll fold like a pack of cards. That will only get worse after this. Much worse.
Just the way Harper laughed off the idea of letting him go to the PSD rather than accept a shit deal. Ugh.

Do any Adelaide supporters get the feeling the Crows are holding out for a really good deal from Sydney or else they will just trade with the Gold Coast? It just seems to me that Sydney will not offer anything that Adelaide will be 100% happy with. In the case of the Suns there are more than enough pieces there to appease the club and supporters. I get the feeling the longer a deal isn't done with Sydney the more chance there is of Adelaide just trading with Gold Coast instead. Anyone else get this feeling?
Either them or Brisbane, I'm inclined to go with the Brisbane given their salary cap space.

He won't say what it is but there must be something because when Phil Harper came on Rowey mentioned again that Tippett's trade will be adversely affected by something associated with his previous contract and would Harper like to talk about it.

Harper didn't refute it at all, but said that no, he wouldn't, and would rather talk about positives like Callinan being promoted to the main list.
Damn, I wouldn't want you on my jury if I ever have to go to court m23 :p Haven't we learned our lesson about assuming that a refusal to deny a rumour means that it's true? How many times did Harper refuse to discuss the supposed clause written into Kurt's contract? And sure enough, there wasn't one.

The club is too smart to fall for Rowe's act. Whenever he wants something confirmed, he just floats the opposite and waits for the denial. Of course Harper isn't going to talk about the fine details of Tippett's contract, right in the middle of the trade negotiations!

Sticking point is that sydney have to give up at least 1 of their quality players.
They don't know which one....
Still plenty of time to sort it out.

We won't send him to the PSD and risk getting nothing, did you hear Harper on 5AA tonight?
Adelaide have told sydney they have to get rid of one of their quality players, sydney understand this.
Its pretty hard for sydney to decide who to let go, especially when you have your CEO overulling your recruiting department.

That's not to say we only have to deal with Sydney. Another club can come in later with an offer. There is still a while to go on this one.
Brisbane offer pick 8 and good salary, we tell tippo that we can't come to an agreement with Sydney, are you willing to go to Lions or risk it and go into PSD?

Doesn't sound like the CEO does though and he has the final say

I gather it may be out of Rohan, Parker and Mitchell so now Parker and Rohan. That'd be my guess. I just feel we can cover Parker with Mitchell or Lamb. Ah well trade week should be Max 2 weeks

Yes we're gonna get reamed. Tippet set us up for this months ago. Anyone who believes the Ireland-Blucher-Ireland's wife connection hadn't arranged this when he called off negotiations with us mid season is naive and delusional

On the plus side, Sydney could only just keep up with us this year and we were just finding our feet with new coach, game plan, players maturing and massive $kurt shaped distraction. Next year we will maul them.

But if he said he wants to go to Sydney, and Sydney knows we won't send him to the PSD, it's irrelevant who we negotiate with if Kurt won't go there.
Then it goes to mediation with the AFL and Sydney's reputation as being a fair trader is severely dented.

We've taken PSD off the table. Harper categorically said we would not send Kurt to the PSD and get nothing for him. In fact, he treated the suggestion with contempt.
Kurt has to agree to trades. He doesn't get a say in where he gets drafted in the PSD, so long as they're willing to match his salary offer at Sydney. Why would he agree to go to a destination besides his desired one unless he thinks we might send him into the PSD, where that third party certainly has a pick before Sydney?
Again, WHY REMOVE THIS BARGAINING CHIP?

I'm with DandyGo. It's not just defeatist, it's incompetent.

Anyone with any experience in negotiating knows you need to be able to make a credible threat that if there's no deal, your opponent will be disadvantaged. In this case, the only credible threat to Sydney is 'if you don't make a deal we have another buyer who will give us a good price'. Saying 'we're committed to Sydney' is crazy, because it says 'we'll take the best you can offer'.

As soon as Sydney took their tight-arsed position, we should have solicited offers from Brisbane, GC, and anyone else interested. We should have started dealing with GWS. If another club made a decent offer (decent to us and to Kurt) we have competition, and competition will always lead to a better deal.

The only way I can forgive the club for Harper's statements is if he is sacked, or we are in fact soliciting rival offers behind the scene, or if we have tried to already and failed. In which case we are truly forked and it is fair to start moderating our expectations.
