This board has some amazing posters, with great internet intellect. I would love to see a start to finish summary of Rucci's articles over the trade period, ending with his report on what we actually do get for Tippett. He has sounded so sure of himself in each article, yet now there is still 'no progress'? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I think it would make a number of so called 'experts' look like anything but; Rucci included
Rucci is the most self important journo in the game. I have to say that I find his logic is often hard to follow and his predictions or 'inside knowledge' is often way off the mark. Either he's making stuff up or someone is enjoying feeding him crap.

To those saying crouch hasn't played defense in juniors...if he can't come in and hold down a hbf next year then he is no chance of being an elite mid.

I believe he can if required and will become an elite mid.

We have bought in Murphy from the Hawks and re-signed, Mav, Stanley and Patrick. Plus taken Clay Cameron as a pick. Not huge money but probably enough to rule us out and it also fills our roster.

For Brisbane they have grabbed Malony (think that's right) so cash is also going to be an issue for them. Plus I don't think either the Suns or Brissie are done trading yet.

The only way this could happen would be for the Crows to stop negotiations with Sydney now so the Suns and Brissie could trade for space and free up cash. Neither team is going to sit around and wait "just in case" you have to strike now as by Friday the door will be shut. I have no doubt the Swans realise this too and are playing it to their advantage.
Those discussions would be happening now .....in case Tippett says Sydney/Adelaide can't get deal done , I now want to go to this club

His manager would also be speaking to each club as a backup for his client

no
I'd say we trade our pick 19 to a team that wants him so they can take him in the ND before Sydney.
need. I think the chances of muppet floating through to 23 are virtually nil. This is the point that Rucci and co conveniently skip over.

Id say hes making shit up, hes wrong so often that he would surely have figured out by now if he was just getting trolled by 'sources'

The other thing he does instead of admitting fault, is say 'well that's how it was when I wrote the article, but things changed'.

We should be having a dip at Polec anyway, especially if he is homesick (probably isn't); him and Brodie Smith would be a great combo.

If there is a clause, I'd believe it was that we won't put him in the PSD; and I suspect the angst might be whether the real Draft would fall under that.

I'm still staggered that we haven't put the AFL under immense public pressure and demanded they strong arm Sydney into being reasonable.

Elite mid?

Won't we be playing him full forward out of the goal square?

And what are we going to do with Walker next season? CHF?

If a deal cannot be reached between Sydney and Adelaide by the trade deadline this friday and Adelaide put him in the national draft, Sydney would be too scared to draft Tippet as Adelaide would be so annoyed that they lost him for nothing to the team they could have made a deal with.

Why wouldn't you actually repeat what he said in this post rather than have 3-4 of us ask you to tell all, I don't get it.

I'm a slow typer. I started typing back when it was posted earlier but the 5+ page lag has made it confusing.

So, Sydney wouldn't draft him because they could get him for nothing and that would annoy the AFC? We're not married...

Bit hard to say something is "how it was" when time has proven it to have never been the case. Probably wouldn't stop him though.

Worth remembering that Adelaide can't "put Tippett into the national draft". If we don't trade him, his contract runs out and he is able to nominate for whichever drafts he wants, be it national draft or PSD.

Agree. I hate saying this but Sydney know they have most of the aces and, as you say, the stalling is to use the time to force the other 'interested' clubs to drop by the wayside.

We have to give Sydney a deadline so we can put the pressure back on Tippett.

EG: Come up with something by 12pm tomorrow or we are ending all negotiations. Then tell Tippett he will be in the draft unless he nominates multiple clubs. That puts the decision back with Tippett because it will affect his lifestyle, and away from his ridiculous manager.

No, I'm asking a question for confirmation.

"Is it true" as in, yes or no and finished with a question mark?

I got a text stating it and then a mate showed me a tweet suggesting the same thing. I didn't believe it, so thought i'd ask.

Alex I think my reply went over your head, sauce source.

There's been nothing mentioned about that trade, but he would have to be going to the Saints.
