I''l be interested to see the penalty handed to Tippet. He has the AFLPA behind him so may get an easier ride at our expense.

Got a horrible feeling the AFC will bear the brunt of the blame and the punishment. Tippet to be cleared to play round 1 with whoever wins the bidding war (c'mon Sheedy release the moths and go elbow deep into that fat purse of yours).

Or........

Trigg's eagerness to rid the AFL of Racist Rendell at the request of "Vlad the employer" will be remembered and rewarded by easing the penalty to a point where Vlad's favorite CEO can be retained as an even more eager to please servant.

If this ends with Kurt playing round 1 for Sydney with only a small fine I think we should all Torch march AFL HQ. But whatever happens tomorrow I expect this thread to top 1,000,000 views sometime on Saturday. Impressive numbers but piddling compared to Tippets next contract.

Arrghh, the usual balanced commentary from Darth.

Just to put the record straight, I went on holidays just after Kurt announced he was going to Sydney. The change of avatar was meant to be a prediction of what was lying ahead (a bit too subtle for you Vader?) I subsequently found it even more entertaining to watch you and other keep digging a bigger hole for themselves rather than continue to cop insults for predictions that eventually were accepted as facts. I returned when the majority of my "good oil" was made public. No, I wasn't aware of the final Tippett doublecross but not even the inner sanctum at the Crows saw that coming.

I will be happy to provide a detailed list of where I was right and where I was wrong once the club provides the full story. I am confident I will be much, much closer to 90% right rather than 90% wrong as you have stated. I would match my record against everyone except Emma Quayle (now that's what I call a source). I haven't noted your commentary on the accuracy of Jenny's statements for example (she was still saying her sources were assuring her that Kurt would stay as the moving guys were carrying out the grand piano).

My recent statement regarding the earlier indicretions under Triggy's watch did not come from anyone at the club. My source is impeccable and I am interested if anyone else has heard something (nothing has come out in the press yet).

Soon we can put all of this behind us and concentrate on more relevant matters like the accuracy rate of Canberra posters predicting the delisting or trading of 30% of our young KIDS. What level of accuracy would you attribute to those predictions by posters that have never/hardly ever seen these KIDS play :p.

Is that really relevant, point by point where you were right or wrong??? I have read your posts with great interest and the crux of your argument which you continually maintained was that $kirt had already signed and was going to the Gold Coast.
Sure you may have made other statements that may be accurate but you were steadfast in your claims that he was leaving and the deal had been done earlier with the Gold Coast. You were so confident in your claims that you continually responded to certain posters in a very condescending and arrogant way when they challenged your claims.

Based on what has been reported to dated, I haven't read or heard any claims by anyone including EQ and CW that there was any deal or agreement struck between $kirt and the Gold Coast on the date you have previously suggested.
This thread was mainly a discussion about $kirt, whether he was staying or going. You were right that he was leaving, claims that others also made, but you were horribly wrong in your claim that he had already signed with the Gold Coast. Nothing has been mentioned either in the print media or radio.

So I don't think any other parts of your "record" have great relevance when your main claim has been proven to be false.

My ears pricked up as well at his comment at the airport...but I heard the word sanction directly followed by 'if indeed there are any'

I thought it was a weird thing to say.

Having said that we will get a six figure fine. I will cop that if no further draft picks are taken off us and Flogface gets a holiday #friends4lyfe

There is no doubt in my mind deals have been done and frankly I will be very surprised if we get anything other than fines with any further loss of picks framed as a suspended punishment. At the start of this we were very bullish. Reading between the lines of chapmans last couple of statements, we have been offered a satisfactory outcome with a promise that if we try running this as a trial and lose, the Afl will cripple us.

So we are rolling over and are buying the support of Trigg and harper, who woukd otherwise defended themselves, by guaranteeing their jobs.

I note with interest an earlier post stating knowledge of the afl being concerned at how aggressive we were at the start. If true this is consistent with the MO of our Counsel. My belief is that we have made a case for burning their house down which has led to an outcome where an agreement has been struck that we forfeit our early picks this year and that s it other than the fine.

Just my guess but sticking my neck out and crystal balling.

Agree with that:thumbsu:

I also agree and believe a deal has already been done. I am hoping the outcome is not too dis-similar to what you have stated above.
The highlighted bit sounds juicy!!!

I was online when the news broke that he selected Sydney and so were you (and many other people). I remember you posting literally moments (possibly even seconds) before the news broke still pushing the Gold Coast claim. And boom, as soon as the news broke you stopped posting. Then you conveniently started posting again right after EQ broke the gentlemen's agreement story to let everyone know you were right about that.

I was on "gardening leave" for most of August, September and early October thus enabling me to post frequently during the day. I then went on holiday and started a new job in November. No longer posting as soon as Kurt announced Sydney was meant to be a bit of humour.

If anyone has "real" contacts at the Suns, I am confident that they will confirm that they thought Kurt was "signed, sealed and delivered" at the end of 2011. Brisbane also thought they were in with a good chance which simply indicates that Tippett/Blucher were playing the lot of them. If anyone believes that August was the first time Sydney thought it would be a good idea to have a chat to Kurt then I have an excellent bridge to sell you.

The key issue was that the inner sanctum continued to insist that Kurt was poised to sign with us up until the time that "he called Sideney home". This was very disturbing to some people at West Lakes because hardly anyone outside of Adelaide believed he would stay. We now know that the inner sanctum were neither naive nor deluded. Quite simply they were banditos trying to cover their tracks;.

Did this really quickly while playing CS:GO - ask and you shall receive.

Lol...pity I have no facts to back it up. I just recall Chapman talking about ensuring any penalty accords with natural justice. Add to that the term natural justice was not mentioned until the lawyers were instructed.

For those wanting to hear the full story even though it's a closed session tomorrow, worry not, Emma Quayle has given us all the FACTS in The Age last night.

All that is left to learn is stuff that is not bound by tomorrows closed session confidentiality - how the #$%# did we allow ourselves to get into this mess?

I want whoever vetoed the trade of Tippett to Brisbane last year for their first round pick and an end of first round compo pick to be castrated, oops I mean dismissed immediately as that was the worse decision of the whole sordid saga. Rendell wanted it done, he is a man with smarts AND integrity. Can we please get him back, he is a gun recruiter and we need that now!

If Trigg stays after all this then we really are a bumbling amateur outfit.

Just as vexing an issue though is how to make fans care for the club again. I'm not talking about the unconditional AFC lovers. I'm talking about the normal people with opinions, minimum standards, who expect a level of professionalism and actually want to see the club succeed.

This whole thing has left a bitter taste in the mouth and whilst the wounds are fresh, it is difficult to muster the same enthusiasm for the club as we've had previously. This time last year for instance (coming off two diabolical seasons) the board was lit up with training chatter. Now it's on a drip feed.

So whatever the final penalties, how can the club pick up the pieces and rebuild?

It's funny because the "AFC lovers" seem to be more dark about this then the "normal people".

I've been a fan of the crows forever BUT I've never become a member or paid ANY attention to the offseason.

However last week I signed up for 2 standard concourse members tickets and have never felt this passionate for the club and it's players in my life. I don't feel angry at the club, I feel angry at a few individuals and a player that put the club in this situation. I feel sorry for our current players but have enjoyed seeing their banter on twitter and I honestly think it will bind them together.

We have the youngest team in the league minus the two new teams and we almost made a GF this year.

I have never been this excited and we have an amazing new oval in 2014. The crows will sell out membership there.

I think this thread is a testament to my argument. I've put 200+ posts in this thread and never participated in the big footy forums until now.

So each member is going to get a call from each director, that's ridiculous and impossible

I look forward to the call, hope they've got my number recorded correctly as I'll be waiting by the phone from midday tomorrow. Of corse I'll be asking some very difficult questions, as no doubt many of you guys will.

How many members? How many Directors? How many hours in a day? How much a crock of shite is that idea?

Reckon they'd be best getting an Indian call centre to make the calls!

Yep the decision to not trade him last year was idiotic, arrogant and sackable. We had an out, but we got greedy and gambled and lost. Trigg knew what it took to keep him last time, we had to sell our soul. Unbelievably dumb.
