I don't think he broke the rules but I have a feeling he will be charged with rough conduct. He could argue he was protecting himself/the space but IMO the problem he's going to have is once contact to the head is made, his leg extends again further in a kicking motion. If you watch his foot is up bracing for impact, once impact to the foot is felt he kicks his leg out causing more damage.
I'm torn on whether or not he should go for it because I don't think he broke any rules but the AFL won't like how it looked.

I call bullshit. You've seen players put their feet out like that hundreds of times? Of course you haven't.
The only time I've seen a foot kicked out against a player is in a marking contest when the foot is planted in the back (and that's rare - normally it's the knee) and not the face.

We must be watching different games, I can't say I recall hundreds of people getting a boot in the face when someone receives a hand pass.

If you force someone off the field due to an illegal act, and he was rightly penalised for it on the night, then I can only assume the level of force is sufficient enough to be looked at by the MRP. It may be graded as low and he only cops a fine, or it could graded as medium and he gets two weeks. I'm not saying every cut is reportable, but when it is caused through an illegal act it will get looked at.

Its quite obvious he intended to jump in the air and fend off an opponent with his boot when he had other legitimate options taht would easily have given him time to collect the handball recieve and then dish it off.

The only thing that cant be proven is whether he intended to hit him in the face with his boot.

It was an intentional act with reckless execution. What scale does that equate to? God knows

I'd suspend that one too. If you fly into any marking contest late and with no reasonable chance of spoiling legally or marking punching the ball then it should be reportable if you injure or risk injuring an opponent with reckless behaviour

Because the next bit to decide is whether he deliberately sttuck out. If he did he would get a week.

That doesn't happen every week. Late contact to the marker. Must have got a 50 metre penalty. If Lynch had any chance of being in a marking contest it should be no charge. He didn't, so he should have been charged with reckless contact to the body (impact based on medical report).

Has anyone said he is allowed? Every post I have read has said the free kick is there.

You're bias is clearly messing with your interpretation of what happened.

How could you say the ball was chest height? Green jumps high enough into air to kick Dalhaus with a straight leg.

No one is saying its a legal move. There was a free kick paid against Greene the question is whether or not he deserves to be suspended.

Yeah it may have been accidental, but so many are ignoring the fact from the footage that shows him push his leg out further after he made contact with Dahlhaus's face. As if he was trying to use it as a springboard. That motion itself shows he intended to use his leg to fend off, rather than just "accidentally waving around because he jumped high" as some seem to imply. He knew Dahlhaus was coming, still had a duty of care to avoid contact to the face

And it was a handball receive, not a mark, so many commenting yet don't even realize that point ugh
