Incidental.

If we allow outcomes to overrule intentions then why have any rules at all?

It's just not part of the game using your feet whether it's kicking or flying kicks like that one who does he think he is Bruce lee

I will be totally politically incorrect now, with soccer you see players using their feet to kick or even flying kicks like greens and it is the softest most gutless look you have ever seen, it looks pathetic

Stamp it out of our game immediatly stop the gutless act and through the book at him 4 weeks if any players bring that crap into footy and we see more of it I will be disgusted

Not many harping it's legal, most say it's a free against him, but i fail to see where it says it's a reportable offense.

If he just jumped for the ball, 99.99% certain he would have been poleaxed.

Seen ruckman reported and suspended for it and only to the guts in the SANFL

Love to see him get off. If we have learned anything about AFL players learning quickly and using the rules for advantage, every player will soon be kicking each other while pretending not to look. "Coming through, coming through. Protecting space, people."

Coaches will be teaching players how to kick opposition player in the face
:D

And the preamble to 15.4.3 is:
"Other than the Prohibited Contact identified under Law 15.4.5, a Player may make contact with another Player: "

Key part saying "other than prohibited contact"

Meaning 15.4.5 applies at all times. (Technically- I know is not always treated that way)

15.4.3 then goes on to list the allowable types of contact. Booting someone in the face when receiving a handball isn't in that list. But clause (e) allows you to do that when taking a mark.

I agree with what you said before. It's hypocritical to allow dangerous high contact in that circumstance and not others - and it's for the spectacle. But the rules are clear.

Ruckman using would be just funny to see how much damage they could cause on each other will get some great sprigg marks by the end of a game

why is his leg even raised in the first place.

That's the way he has always attacked the ball when it's in the air and coming towards him.

If you had actually watched any GWS games over the last, oh.... six years, you'd know that Toby sticks his foot up when trying to protect space and to balance himself in mid air. Hundreds of times over the journey. This is the first time anyone has run into it.

And he's not the only player that does it. The much vaunted and endlessly celebrated Bont did it in the same game.

And as for all the numpties saying oh, he extended the leg after contact, therefore it shows intent. Rubbish, the leg was extended in the act of turning 180 to be facing back towards where he wanted to go. Nothing to do with Dahlhaus and everything to to with the biomechanics of trying to turn around while you're in mid air.

If Tippet doesn't get done for kneeing Heath Shaw in the head and putting him in hospital a couple of years ago then you Greene doesn't get done for this.

Umpires have admitted that they target him.

The preamble of 15.4.3 explicitly states that the rules of prohibited contact still apply.

As much as I dislike Greene for being a on-field pest and his numerous gutless actions on the field that have seen him suspended in the past, I feel he'd be slightly unlucky in this case.

Appeared to have eyes on the ball and the leg out wasn't intended as a 'kick' so much as a way to protect the space. He'll probably still be suspended though and his bad record will make it worse.

17 other teams crapping their pants after tonight, will do all they can off field to attempt to hamstring us. Won't work, welcome to the Giants era.

I know you've only been following AFL for 5 minutes but maulings get a lot worse than 50 points.

Acknowledged you have arguably the most talented list to play in the same team - but if anything you guys are underperforming.

Prohibited Contact != Reportable Offence

Thanks for your insight, if you need the names of any dry cleaners to get those stains out, just ask.
