and Judo, weightlifting and gymnastics. No need to pick on swimming. Plenty of other sports hand out the medals like trinkets in a cereal box.

Not all events are equal. A guy like Denny coming 4th in Discus or the Matildas into the final 4 is (in my mind) more impressive than a gold in say the 200m IM in the pool. that's not to disparage our swimmers. Just the way it is.
