Which again really puts it into perspective. There have been comments from WB supporters to the effect of 'he will come good'. He is being paid a million dollars a year for **** sake, he better do a lot better than come good. He is being paid the same as Buddy, which itself is of semi questionable value. When he starts performing like Buddy, people will stop bagging him. If he thinks that is an unrealistic standard to be held to, them maybe don't ask for the second biggest contract in AFL history.
Different teams require different things. For a young team, securing a player at 19 that could become a major key forward is worth a million. He doesn't have to become as good as Buddy to be worth that. Buddy was worth it to the Swans because it got them to the top of the table to challenge again. Bulldogs can build a team around a key forward.

Would definitely hope now the 7 million was performance based in some way otherwise big Thomas can just stay in the VFL and practise his wrestling moves in perpetuity and sit at home and get paid, heck even doing it 20 times would only cost him 100k in fines, but sitting on the sideline and getting paid $1.3 million still could be fun
