Some of you need to chill out, be better than geelong supporters.

We dont need to wish injuries on anyone or hope someone evens it up.

Just be content in the fact we win when it really matters.

Also the thread is about Stewart and Prestia

Blokes need to get over this retribution stuff.

No one will do anything firstly because our team aren't that hard and most importantly because it's not Ice Hockey where you send in an enforcer to extract a pound of flesh the next time you play.
Yeah heat of the moment revenge didn’t happen. Won’t even cross our mind in 2 months if we play them again

The campaigner needs to go for 6 weeks minimum and better bring a spare pair of pants when we meet in September
If the AFL had any balls he would get 6 weeks

Lets see how serious they are about getting rid of high impact specially deliberate high contact off the ball and not in play

  • Ball is 5 mtrs away from Prestia when he go king hit
  • Totally unexpected and all players watching the ball except Mr "Nice Guy"
*Careless is the word they used - Correct Stewart didnt care what happened to Prestia
* Off Ball , Deliberate , High , Major impact inflicted

But the Geelol cockatoo smokers will get together and make it 4 just to satisfy the media

6 Weeks is what it deserves

I will be amazed if the coward gets more than 3 weeks. It should be 6+ but this is the AFL we're talking about here. I have zero confidence in them doing the right thing, plus as the media have been falling all over each other to remind us since it happened, he's a good bloke and he's sorry.

We need Jacob Townsend back
Stack to come in and absolutely line that campaigner up and show him and the rest of Geelscum how to bump someone fair and within the rules. Even if it's not Tom then Sellwood, Dangerfield or Rohan would still satisfy me.

Edit. Forgot the snake J.Cameron and that sniper Hawkins.... **** it even cleaning up C.Scott coming down the race during a break would just be satisfying 😆 🤣

Careless not intentional - did he not have time to drop his shoulder to minimize point of impact ? He did not vary his body statue to minimize impact - surely intentional ?

If anything he maximizes the potential for high contact, skips off the ground, straightens his back, goes with the point of the shoulder. Outside of walking up and punching someone there'll never be a more clearcut deliberate act. But because the AFL controls the media and the media controls what people think he'll get 4 and it'll get swept under the rug. AFL have no idea how big the repercussions will be in the future when it can clearly be shown how lightly they take deliberate high contact incidents.

I suspect if we do play them then yeah. Lynch and JR would probably get into his ear before the bounce asking him if his insurance is up to date,
but after that, I'd say they wouldn't even think about it.

However, I dare say that the Coward believes in karma and justice, putting good vibes out etc.

At some stage, during a game (and probably not against us) the Coward will get crunched in a marking contest and stay down. Bound to happen.

Then I'll be doing the happy dance, party time!

The elephant in the room is whether the AFL will appeal ala Bachar Houli if the decision is manifestly inadequate.
They’d bloody well want to….

90kg of muscle charging in and impacting the head with the point of the shoulder would be a greater impact than a punch IMO. Take into account Prestia was unaware of it coming purely focussed on the play makes it at least 6 weeks. It was a cowards punch/hit.
There's Tiger supporters coming out and defending Stewart who've gotten completely sucked in by the "good guy" narrative.
Makes me think If Tigers supporters are that open to suggestion, the "impartial" tribunal's likely to give him minimum chips which is manifestly inadequate.

That's what really pissed me off, the fact meatball couldn't even brace for contact he never expected any physical contact. Whilst I was at the game they didn't even show one replay on the big screen of the incident. I'm sure if they did the lads would've absolutely poleaxed "mr nice guy" within the next play.

The Coward still feels sick? Well shit.

I'm thinking a 6 game suspended sentence is probably the fairest outcome then. Just as long as he's doing okay.

He's an intercept marking defender. He stands under the football. I don't think there is anything wrong with launching a high ball in his direction and encouraging JR8 or Tom Lynch to "attack the footy". There's absolutely no need for any of our players to cop a suspension, but we should not forgive nor should we forget.
Most Tigers fans and many commentators felt there was absolutely no reason for Marlion Pickett to be suspended for what looked liked the perfect shepherd and yet he did and missed the Dreamtime game. Tom Lynch would have absolute buckleys chance of avoiding a suspension for a hard attack on the ball if there was any head high contact involved especially the media circus that would occur surrounding calls of payback. The target on Tom Lynch has already been well established by that particular media circus.

Whilst some of the media "poor Tom made a mistake" circus is distasteful when it's our player who is the real victim, I believe Tom Stewart is genuinely remorseful and regretting his brain fade decision to bump. Hopefully Dion is recovering well and won't suffer any lingering short or long term effects from the impact. I would imagine the club will have to provide a medical report for the tribunal tonight and will be scrupulously honest with regards to the impact on Dion's health.

Violence on field (or off) is never the answer and situations like this will galvanize both the players and coaches. If we are good enough we will make the eight regardless of the result against Geelong last Saturday, and playing fairly and winning when we next meet should be the be goal of the club. Hopefully the icing on the cake will be that our next win against Geelong will knock them out of the finals.

I disagree. This pacifist, professional, modern approach to footy at the elite level bears little resemblance to footy played around the country at lower levels. If you take someone out, you have a target on your back. It can take minutes or years, but eventually you will cop it. That's usually the end of it.

Buddy Franklin is an excellent example of what happens to players who don't ever face retribution on the AFL field. He's a cheap sniper who hits smaller players and is protected by the "superstar" rule which means he doesn't get reported anywhere near as often as he should. Back in the good old days, a ruckman or CHB would have made pay on the field. Today, there is no price to pay and so he spends a career getting away with that crap.

I don't care that Tom Stewart is remorseful. I don't care that he's a good guy. Next time we play them, I want to see the score settled.
