Sorry to intrude, but I thought you guys would be best to ask.

I want to go to the match tonight but I haven't gotten tickets, and apparently only single seats and standing are left. Surely not?

Does anyone know if more tickets are normally released or if we (a group of up to 4) just went to the gate we'd get tickets for seats somewhere?

I can't believe this would be sold out. Every Adelaide match I've seen on TV has had plenty of empty seats.

You underestimated the Adelaide Oval effect massively! Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but you should be able to buy up single seats and go stand on the hill.

This is correct. The hill is not a bad place place to see the game. Reasonable view of the game, great view of the stadium, big screen behind you for the other end, good atmosphere and often some friendly banter. We often wander down there from our seats in the 2nd half, especially for quarters when the crows are kicking to that end.

It's no surprise the game would sell out, but you're correct there are spare seats around the place.

Heaps of people like to stand on the hill, or in the standing areas around the ground. plus lots of people just don't turn up for whatever reason.

I'm 99% certain if you can get GA tickets, you'll be fine to then suss out some seats together to sit in when you get there.

Pretty much agree with above, if you get GA tickets your not limited to the hill, there are some standing areas under cover at the bottom of the Eastern and Southern stands. If standings not for you I guess you could go to the top of the Southern and do the walk confidently past the ticket check person.

Ended up getting GA and the hill wasn't too bad. We did find seats in the last quarter.

Incredible ground. Way better than AAMI. It would have to be my favourite stadium.

Empty seats are usually people wandering down to the hill, or no-shows. There's not much you can do about the latter.

There was a heap of seats free in the southern stand in blocks of 2-4. Just sit in them until someone else tells you to move.
