Anyone heard multiple media commentators highlight how the Crows forwards keep away from each allowing for 1:1s and a great forward line structure?

That's what scares me about Murphy in, that all goes to hell and he gets in the way.

Let’s step through this. So form is a determinant for selection? Explain how Milera was picked ahead of Nank then.

Murphy had a big game playing midfield, you expecting him in the middle or forward? If it’s middle how do you think he will go against Rowell and co? If it’s up forward, it’s not his forward form that got him in and we’ve had years to see what he does up forward.

Options, bring in Schoenberg and Draper share mid and forward. Or Taylor and Draper.

As for Pedlar that was a bit of dig at posters during the preseason who were adamant he’d be picked ahead of Murphy.

Yeah I don't agree with Milera ahead of Nank, but I also don't think Milera has been drastically bad. Are they prioritising experience into the equation? Maybe. I just think Murphy was decent in the SANFL, 6 tackles and 7 inside 50's, and has looked OK playing HF and chopping out in the midfield in the past. They might want Draper to rest up forward on occasion as it'll be his first game with full minutes. It's a bit of a head-scratcher, and could have gone a few different ways, i'm just not as surprised or appalled as everyone else. There is an odd infatuation with some on this board in regards to certain players.

Yeah he probably wouldn't have been my personal choice, and I didn't watch the SANFL game until after I voted, I'm just not as surprised that he's been selected. It's not some monumental travesty like some apparently grown men on here would have you believe.

Agree, hence what's the lose in playing one of the other candidates who haven't hit their ceiling yet?

We know exactly what Murphys ceiling is because he's been given countless extended opportunities to show it.

Nothing, there’s no way Murphy should be coming in ahead of the likes of Taylor or Pedlar. I was just responding to someone that thinks that it makes a difference to winning or losing.

Captains run was uneventful despite being 3/4 of an hour late. Didn’t even notice Murphy out there (I’m sure he was there) but definitely saw Nankervis.

It is hot and muggy, boys will definitely feel it.

Was nice to see some of the lads come across to sign a few things and take pics with the fans. Borlase and Cumming are so broad across the shoulders. Dan Curtin and Ben Keays went the extra mile and were last in.
