The Lions may not be able to move on the ladder though and if they scrap the bye they might decide to rest players, certainly won’t be going flat out I wouldn’t think.
Even if they can’t make top 4 they are more likely to play Essendon if they win while a loss gives them the red hot giants. Plus the fact the eagles are worse than useless outside of Perth.

Essendon should win this week, but with a team that consistently lets the other team score quite freely… you never know.

Can’t remember a year where the last two weeks was left too play with so much up in the air.

Top 4 team still too play one another and the 5-8 teams still undecided and fighting for positions.

From Ports view, I think we will lock in the top 4 today with a win but I think if we are going to have a good crack we need to get up too 2nd/3rd.

I don’t think many would want to finish 4th as if they loose the QF they will likely then face the lions. The lions have had us in their pockets for the last few years so I’d rather avoid them.

Of course the moto that you have to be able to beat the best to win can be said but if you can get an easier run through the finals then of course you would go for it.

Avoiding the lions for who ever looses that 1v4 QF could be huge.

Alternatively I would much rather Port just win the QF and hit some form for the pointy end of the season. We haven’t had a run of consecutive weeks where it’s really clicked all year so hopefully we start too see that.

Nope, a loss would most likely have them playing the Eagles again.

You saying that is just denying fact it is possible. Bulldogs losing to Hawks and Port by a combined total of 50 points is unlikely but definitely realistically possible. It can’t be denied because it’s objective truth.

Friday night: Richmond vs Hawthorn
Saturday early: Sydney vs GC
Saturday afternoon: Adelaide vs North
Saturday twilight: St Kilda vs Fremantle
Saturday night: Bulldogs vs Port

Sunday afternoon: Essendon vs Collingwood
Sunday twilight: Carlton vs GWS

Dogs Port Fri night.

Wouldn't be right given Geelong and Melbourne will be impacted by Dogs Port game. Both games should overlap
3 games at Marvel next week, and if the AFL scrap the bye, they'll want top 4 teams having a longer break. Dogs Port will be Friday Night

This I'll be it I reckon
WB V PORT - FRI, MRVL
BL V WCE - SAT, G
RICH V HAW - SUN, MCG
STK V FRE - SAT, MRVL
GEEL V MELB - SAT, GMHBA
ADE V NM - SAT, AO
SYD V GC - SUN, GMHBA
ESS V COL - SAT, MCG
CARL V GWS - SUN, MRVL

So Saints are gone now and the 8 could be done and dusted by tomorrow
Only if Essendon lose to Gold Coast, and I can’t see that happening.
